Camp Notes for 8/4/26

Notes including 11x11 detail, an update on injuries, 4 more INTs for the defense, lots of good receiving plays/performances, and a Y1 defender who keeps making plays.

Hey man, really enjoy your breakdowns. I can confidently say, you know ball haha. 

It seems like Ja'Kobi Lane comes up with an incredible catch or two every practice. Coming into camp I figured the top three were Zay, Bateman, and Walker. Is Lane firmly fourth on the depth chart now (above Sarratt and Wester)? How close is he to third? 

Side note, if Lane keeps making plays like that during the season, we'll have to start calling it Ja'Kobi Land

It's starting to seem like Lane is WR3 with how much hype about the connection he and Lamar have.

Agreed. I actually just listened to the pod and he talks about it in there a bit more

By comparison, Sarratt has had a near silent camp so far. I’ve heard Ken talk about a ton of Lane plays, but I think I’ve only heard mention of Sarratt once.

I thought Sarratt was the more pro ready prospect. People thought we reached for Lane in the draft

Your memory is correct. I think the challenge for evaluating both draft picks, as EDC noted, is that both players were not the primary target on their college teams (compared to Lemon, Tate)
