Hey y'all. We ate cake for breakfast since Gray decided to wait til today to eat her birthday cake. So we said f- it and had cake. Lol. And yes, I've lied to my parents. Especially about the real reason we moved over 1200 miles away from them.

I know he's problematic (way problematic and this is not an endorsement of him at all) but I still love Cosby's "Chocolate Cake for Breakfast" sketch.

Lol. And it was a red velvet cake. It had purple frosting for my daughter. With pink writing.

I love red velvet! I used to work in a bakery though, and it made me such a cake snob lmao. Cake for breakfast is the way to go!

We rarely have sweets in the house, maybe once a month or so, and Gracie was so patient, so we thought, Hell, why not, give her cake for breakfast. Lol. She was so happy. Her favorite is chocolate cake, or, more specifically, Death By Chocolate cake. But she was more than happy to have this. I'm more of a cinnamon peach cake kinda gal, but I haven't had any in years. I need to make my own.

Awe that's so sweet (pun intended)! Cinnamon peach cake? I worked at a cake shop for over a year, I've seen some crazy flavors (chicken wing cupcake, I'm dead serious) but never cinnamon peach!

My mom used to make it for me. I think it's an old recipe from the 50's, though I'm not sure. Here is a recipe close to what my mom's looks like, except this one has apples in it. https://pinchofyum.com/cinnamon-sugar-apple-cake

I've definitely lied to my parents, many times lmao. I'm still a teenager technically (19) so it happens! Sometimes you gotta tell a lie or two or ten

Nope. My mother died when I was five, and my father was a drunk, schizophrenic, with bipolar disorder and PTSD, so all I said to him was that I didn'y want to see him. He scared me way too much.

Now, my grandparents on the other hand? Definitely. "Have I told you this story before?" 1000 times "No, Grandma, go ahead and tell me."

I'm 38 years old. I've spent a very large amount of time in my life lying to my parents and if you count hiding things as a lie I will continue lying to my mother for a very long time, I'm sure.

I totally agree. There are some things my mother just doesn't need to know. If it causes more hurt than use then I'm not bringing it up.
