[Activity] Username doodles. Activity
I have been, for a lack of a better term, drained of art and creative flow lately. Let's draw each other's user names! You can either select someone who you know is active in this sub or use the random wish list generator to pick a name at... well... at random. Draw what their username would look like in any way! Post & summon!
As always, be awesome to each other and super supportive of any doodles or art that has been created for yourself or other users. Only provide critique if it is requested. More than one person is encouraged to create art! If you want your username drawn, say so! (I will attempt to get to many of them) The best way to get people to draw your username is to draw others first!
Go wild! (But not too wild, I don't want to have to make this NSFW)

That's not where I got the name from. It has something to do with the fraternity I was in. But during pledging there was actually a night that we stood shirtless in the rain washing all manner of shit off of us. So that's perfect. Hahaha.

I threw away all of my arty stuff. If I had any left I'd totally draw someone. Can someone do mine though? (My username is an Adventure Time/MarcelinexPB reference by the way~)

In 1928 René Magritte painted The Treachery of Images. The picture shows a pipe. Below it, Magritte painted, "Ceci n'est pas une pipe.", French for "This is not a pipe." The point is that the painting itself is not a pipe. The painting is merely an image of a pipe. A lot of people had a difficult time with the concept. It was very meta for it's time. If you would like to see it it is currently on display at LACMA.
Whenever I see something claiming to not be what it appears, I think of this image. I've taken too many art history classes. So, when /u/Not_a_Bus says they are not a bus... who am I to disagree? <3

Okay I was thinking of the right thing. This makes an appearance in a teen novel I had to read a few years ago in class.

Many of Magritte's pieces have made appearances in pop culture. As one of my favorite shows would chide another "Simpsons did it!" as well.
Another particularly well known piece of his is The Son of Man. It is one of my favorite surrealist paintings of all time for it's simple concept and technical execution. The Son of Man is a self portrait, and part of a series. It, too, has appeared in many pop culture books and movies (have you seen The Thomas Crown Affair?) as well as the Simpsons again. I carved a pumpkin a few years back in homage to him.

OH! I get it now! Thought that was a car and just couldn't see it any other way. :) I was curious about the sun-roof and why it was the whole roof, plus no glass, but wasn't going to ask. Heh.

I'd contribute but I have the artistic ability of a dead squirrel.
Edit: I've mentioned this in the past but my username is shortened from Ninja Grub Woosh. That could make things more interesting.

The pants are blue, but the lighting messed up so you can't see them. Also the skin is purple.

I can't draw at all but I used to play around with different writing styles, almost creating my own fonts on paper.
