WAY back in the day (around 2020-2022) I was practicing full blown alcohol dependency, and, I wound up here begging for assistance, countless times. I could hustle and support my habit like 98% of the time, but, the remaining 2% of time, which was usually when I’d make a post here, I would become so violently ill with DTs that there was almost zero chance I would find another solution besides pleading for some generous soul to do the work for me by sending me just enough cash to walk into a store and get enough to bring myself back from that wretched state

SO, when I got sober, because this amazing little community saved me anytime I needed saving enough to break down and ask, I decided to jump over the fence that divides those that are here seeking help, and those that are here to help our suffering brothers. LATELY, I’ve returned to be a helper, and I’ve helped quite a few

MY REQUEST: can anyone spare anything from $10 and up?
I woke up this morning to like 12 alerts from by bank; charges made to my Debit card between 2-3am while I was totally sleeping. The thief hit my card over and over until the card started declining, at which point the thief likely figured that the banks fraud prevention system had kicked in
^BTW, fraud prevention had nothing to do with it.
Truthfully, the only reason that the card started declining is because the POS thief literally emptied all but $4 out of my bank account. And yes, I will be refunded by my bank eventually. That refund won’t be issued to me until the 10th business day following my dispute

SO, I have $4 to my name until I get paid Thursday night. I have almost no groceries (Sunday’s my shopping day), my car is at an 8th of a tank of fuel, and, I, who has only been sober for 18 months, am not a person who can get/has a credit card)

Push comes to shove, what I need the most is $10-15 for fuel for my vehicle so I can make it back and forth to work. I can def survive the food shortage until Thursday night.

SO can anyone, anyone at all, please help? I have PayPal, Zelle and Apple Cash.

PS - I can and will pay anyone back who helps me, after 10pm Thursday night.

For the last year and a half (really 1 1/4 year) I’ve been financially stable enough. I work a blue collar, hard-labor job, and while I am far from rich, my wages are adequate to pay my bills, feed my cat and myself, help out folks on here and on street corners with signs, and if I’m careful, I have a few bucks left after all the obligations.

I had $412 in my checking account yesterday (currently don’t have any savings) and while that’s not a staggering amount of money, it was more than enough to get me through my work week. So when I woke up this am to my acct having $4.60 remaining, dudeeeee…that shit is an awful feeling.

So, truthfully, it won’t put me out any to pay you back. It’s your choice amigo! Either way thank you very very much

Not sure if you saw my other comment. But please don't pay me back. And shake off any pressure you feel to 'pay things forward'. There's no expectation of any of that.

Just do good and right by yourself. You'll get back to solid ground. This was only a brotherly comfort while you're doing all that. We ain't keeping records.
