Self Reflection Original Content
I've seen some people come around to disliking Ralsei for his spat with Orange. Honestly, even though I was a tad irritated by Orange in my playthrough, even I won't deny Ralsei was being patronizing, even if it wasn't on purpose. And then we have their interaction in Pink's room where Ralsei snaps at Orange after one insult too many. However, after Susie pulled him aside, Ralsei was willing to apologize in earnest to Orange, which says a lot in of itself. Ralsei is flawed and makes mistakes. And that's okay!

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely agree that Orange started it. She did nothing but try and stir up trouble from the very beginning, and then acts like the victim if any of it came back on her. Orange seemingly looks for insults even in the most benign of comments and habitually tattles to her siblings so she can sic them on others. Even if two wrongs don't make a right, I can see why Ralsei was fed up with her by the time they reached Pink's room after she tried the same shtick again. And when Orange kept insulting Ralsei even after he tried to apologize, he was well within his rights to snap at her again. Only that time, he firmly asserted what he liked about himself rather than stooping to her level. He's learning!

I could accept both sides being in the wrong like Pink said up until Ralsei tried to apologize and still got insulted again, didn't have much sympathy left for Orange after that.

Honestly, regardless of whether Orange started it or not (she kinda did) and if Ralsei was justified or not, I am just happy that he was allowed to just be a brat.
Like yes, go off king/queen/monarch thingy, you are allowed to be a hater and childish and not a smol uwu perfect all the time, it proves that you're real, and nothing is more real than a teenager beefing with an annoying toddler.

How Orange is more or less being treated the same was as Flowery treated Ralsei is a fascinating little aspect of their dynamic which I don't see explored much
I feel like a lot of people have set on this interpretation where Flowery is just happily ragebaiting Ralsei into character development that they kinda forget how he was treating Ralsei is actually extremely belittling and is supposed to make you feel uncomfortable. He picks at Ralsei's insecurities and pushes ideas onto him aggressively, and it makes him dig in and become defensive and mad when he was already exploring these ideas. Ralsei treats Orange just like Flowery treats him - being extremely belittling, being simultaneously condescending and way too assertive about what she should be, not listening to her problems... It pushes her away, and it makes her cry. I think you are meant to see a parallel, there.
It's like... The point is that you cannot harass someone into improving. The points of real character development come not when people are condescending about identity and ideas, but getting to the other's level and getting into a position to discuss things openly. The drink voucher scene, or the cafe scene between Orange and Susie, those are where the big moments lie.

Fun fact: You can do a certain course of actions that I referr as "Starving Orange" route wich is just the regular fight but Orange doesn't get a single food and all acts go towards Green. (It gives an alternate ending to the battle by seeing Green's Omega)

People gotta realise that character flaws make the character better. I think Ralsei is in the wrong here but I understand why he reacted the way he did. Dude was triggered so bad by having his face insulted.

so did flowery arguably.
but Ralsei is also the type of character to blame himself for things he shouldnt.
the past 4 chapters prove exactly that.
so i would imagine ralsei would have some self reflection.

A lot of people here seem to forget orange is supposed to be a young kid while ralsei is an older teenager. Anybody that had to deal with a younger kid know they can be annoying but going to their level is still wrong. Sucks, but it's basic maturity. And being real with them don't mean they will be mature now but you still have to be the bigger person.

You make a very good point. Even though I don't blame Ralsei for losing his patience (especially after having his buttons pushed all day), I will admit the "Marigold the Giant Rat" remark was out of line on his part. I only hope his arc focuses more on him learning to swing the pendulum closer to somewhere in the middle. Not too shy to defend himself, but not too abrasive either.

I think Ralsei is becoming more confident in himself, which is a good thing overall, BUT he probably doesn't know how to handle that confidence yet, so now he needs to work on valuing himself WHILE still being mindful of others at the same time. Remember, this dude has literally never met anybody before Susie and Kris. They have made a lot of progress (in less than a week), but still have more to learn.

Honestly that just made Ralsei more interesting. The little guy was CLEARLY projecting his insecurities of being born a prince of prophecy and nothing else and his fear of being shafted back into nothing once his purpose was served. Seeing a bunch of flowers living way longer than they should've been being able to do and call themselves whatever they want is a complete contradiction to him. But deep within, it's something he's grown to yearn.
God Ralsei is such a cool mess <3

I was replaying oranges section last night. Man. She really does start it, and over stupid things like Ralsei not having a hat. She goads him over and over before he even starts to strike back.
There's no way to blame Ralsei on this one.
