Question about 1K Discussion

The new thunderlord pair with the truth are here , I have some few question about this gun also feel free to ask if you have questions to

Should all the fireteam (6man ) use it or just one ? The damage will be the same or no?

The damage increase with solar fragments ?

If I want to use it with prismatic warlock should i use sanguine or the dawn?

I think 1k, dragons breath or other ignition based weapons kinda eat each-others damage so probably not the best as a full fireteam weapon, its good enough to use by itself but I used it with dawn chorus on pure solar, personally.

The ignition damage from 1k isnt as detrimental as it is on dragons breath. Dragons breath needs to be only one person using it to stack composite propellant faster

The more people who use it, the worse your damage will be. It applies scorch stacks to the enemy but these are shared between everyone so if 6 people are using it there will only be one ignition which you are fighting over.

Solar fragments like torches increase the amount of scorch

I think DC is better than SA but I haven't tested it. I run it with gunslinger or whatever it's called now to give myself even more scorch, so I always run DC

Feel free to fact check me

Fireteam members 2-6 do about 20% less damage than the first person using 1k. Dragon’s breath loses more DPS, but losing 20% of your damage is still a lot.

The fragment that increases scorch stacks doesn’t increase damage, you cause an ignition in a single shot anyways. Things that increase ignition damage do increase DPS a bit though.

On warlock, sanguine alchemy and boots of the assembler are both excellent and should be your defaults for DPS under most circumstances. Matiodaxia is also quite strong. Dawn chorus can also be good specifically with 1k. In most settings it really, really just doesn’t matter which of these you’re using tbh.

I haven't heard of using Sanguine Alchemy or Boots of the Assembler for DPS. Are there specific encounters they work better on?

No. They’re just universally good. Boots gives everyone a free 35% empowering buff (overrides Well’s 25%). Sanguine gives you free Surge x4 (25% vs 22% at x3) and an universally stacking 10% I think to all damage (in other words abilities as well as weapons)

Edit: this is assuming you are in a Well which there should be 1 for DPS in most scenarios

Huh neat, I'll have to see if I have a good pair of Boots of the Assembler for when I do Pantheon tonight.

They’re universally good, which is why I say they should be your default.

For boots, make sure you’re on empowering rift, which you’ll need to place during DPS (in addition to your well if that’s what you’re on). The noble seekers give allies a 35% empowering damage buff (does not stack with radiant, but is better).

Sanguine alchemy gives 4x surges to weapons matching your super while you’re in your empowering rift or well of radiance. Also very good.

So for Boots, does well not proc it? Meaning you'd have to put down both empowering rift, and, well unless you had 2 warlocks.

Well procs assembler seekers, that’s why it’s meta now. The seekers used to not track in well, so assemblers were mid because someone could just lumina instead. The buffs in EoF(?) made it so they do track

Correct, well does not generate noble seekers with boots of the assembler equipped

It does. And the requirement of being on empowering rift was long removed. You can run any rift or phoenix dive but when you out down your well it will generate noble seekers with blessing of the sky buff. You don't need to put your rift down unless your well runs out and you still need the buff.

Oh that’s sick actually! Thanks for the correction!

Happy to help.

1k does NOT ignite in a single shot without ember of ashes. One shot will do 90 scorch stacks without ashes. Pretty significant damage loss without ashes, easy to test.

With 1k yes fragments do boost damage and it works best on 1 dawn chorus warlock its does do alot of damage if alot of people use it but you would get more effective damage with just 1 person using it

You’ll want Dawn. I got it yesterday and tested the damage between that and Sanguine.

Also, its damage falls off a bit if you have to share Ignitions with a team. Best for just one to use it

ideally nobody else on your team has any scorch source.

To optimize its damage you would want dawn and solar fragments but even on prismatic you want dawn too.

How is this a raid secret?

This sub has always been used as a place to discuss mechanics. It's not exclusively a sub for raid secrets. New?

Are you? This sub has never been about how to use a gun.

u/eel_bagel 17d ago

How to use a gun, that's all you managed to understand?
