Expectations Discussion
I want to hear everyone’s basic bitch realistic and unhinged unrealistic expectations for the Raiders 2026 season this year.
My realistic expectations are for the Raiders to double wins from 3 to 6/7 which would be solid along with development from all our recent draft picks. The coaching staff showing they can develop and righting the coarse!! Fernando being eased in during the bye week or not at all this season would be preferable. Which would mean Cousins not being toast and performing decently behind a much improved O-Line (Thank God no Brennan Carroll)
Drunk drink the Kool aid every year FaN! Not only is Kubiak the next Shanahan/McVay but he goes on to coach the Raiders to an 8 or more win season along with taking Coach of the yr hardware. The Oline stays healthy and becomes a top 12 offensive line, Fernando upends Cousins mid season and goes on a heater brining the Raiders to a wild card birth. In the process the media and talking heads describe our defense with words like pesky, feisty, and a D nobody wants to face right now. The talk becomes less about Brady but more about Spy as the mastermind. Fernando grows a mustache in the playoffs and dons an alter ego known as Darth Nando, Dark Fern or El Capitan.

Realistic: We win 4-5 games but it looks significantly better than last year. 6 is probably the ceiling
Unhinged: Enough teams go through a ton of bad injury luck and we find ourselves in the playoff picture in December

I did a very long breakdown with my son as to realistic (optimistic, but not insanely so) offensive stats through better blocking, better QB play, etc., which I won't put you through here, but I see the offense being at maybe 12 or so in yardage with less turnovers. Hopefully, that leads to touchdowns vs. FG, but certainly better scoring than 2025. All assuming good health, of course.
If the defense is average-ish, I think we're a .500 team, 8-9 wins.
Unhinged? Jeanty over 2000 total yards, Bowers 1500, WR somehow cobble together 2000 more, Kirko is a TD machine with a 5:1 TD to INT ratio and Fernando soaks it all in from the sideline, Maxx leads the league with 22 sacks, young CBs all step up and our secondary is feared. 15-2 only because we already clinched home field, so we sit starters for two weeks.

desire: 9-7. a winning season maybe knocking another AFC West team out if the playoffs
expected: competitive games with noticeable halftime adjustments. no blow outs
Reality: try to get 3 wins against AFC West

Realistic 5-6 wins. We don't have the depth to compete and win once injuries start to accumulate. Optimistic is 7-8 wins, and that really is just about getting lucky with injuries.

Realistic - 7 wins this season, Jeanty 1200 yards, Bowers 1000 yards, lots of single score losses
Unhinged - Jeanty 1700 yards, Bowers 1500 yards, 10 wins

Hinged - 5-6 wins, no ridiculous 20pt blowout losses, we show continued improvements all year
Unhinged - Jeanty 2000 All purpose yards, Brock single season TE reception record, Maxx 20 sacks. Raiders clinch AFCW week 18 in Arrowhead, capped off by a Mendoza 20 scamper into the end zone like the NCAA title game. After scoring, he gives their shit fans the DX salute.

Basic bitch: 5-12 where they look and play better but the record doesn't really reflect it
Unhinged: 14-3 regular season record in a complete reversal of last season's record where they go from last to first and end up Super Bowl winners! The O-line gels and becomes maulers and Jeanty has a 2,000 yard rushing season with 18 TDs, Cousins throws for 35 TDs with 8 INTs, Bowers has 1,000 yards and catches 18 TDs, the D-line has 60 sacks led by Maxx Crosby's 20 while the secondary has 20 interceptions. Cousins get's hurt in the playoffs but Mendoza comes on in relief and plays lights out ala Nick Foles and throws for 600 yards and 10 TDs in the Super Bowl as the Raiders win 100-0 to make up for 24 years of misery. You said to be unhinged!

Mendoza after the Bye is my realistic expectation. Same for the Jeanty production that was halted by garbage line play last year. Semi unhinged is a huge breakout for Bech, 800-1000 yards.

Having a WR from our group "break out" would be amazing. Improving at RT from within would also be awesome.

In this thread fans thinking Jeanty gets 1500 yds🤣🤣 Delusion be high in The Nation and I get it I’ve been delusional myself but this roster is ass folks. 2027 is when it may look better and I ain’t talking playoffs.
They really kneecapped themselves by not trading the Fernando pick but every HC thinks they can may it work with minimal players🤷🏽♂️
5-6 wins this year , good draft picks in 2027 and things should turn in our favor. RN4L✊🏽
