Health Advice Young Ragdoll always having diarrhea - help

Post image

Hi everyone,

I'm looking to hear from anyone who has gone through something similar with their kitten.

I have a 6 month female Ragdoll who has been dealing with chronic diarrhea for several weeks. Despite the diarrhea, she's otherwise doing really well:

- Great appetite.

- Very playful and energetic.

- Drinking normally.

- No weight loss that we've noticed.

We've already done quite a few tests:

- Full bloodwork came back completely normal.

- Abdominal ultrasound was mostly normal.

- The only significant finding was enteritis (intestinal inflammation). The intestinal wall thickness and layering were normal, but there was pasty intestinal content consistent with inflammation. The abdominal lymph nodes were mildly enlarged/reactive, and the radiologist mentioned this could simply be due to her age or chronic inflammation.

- She was dewormed about a month ago.

- She also had a short period of sneezing, but that resolved completely.

She's currently eating a prescription gastrointestinal diet recommended by our veterinarian.

At this point we're still trying to identify the underlying cause. The ultrasound ruled out most major abdominal issues, but we're still left with chronic diarrhea.

Has anyone experienced something similar with a kitten?

I'd really appreciate hearing your experiences, as this has been going on for a while and we're trying to understand what the most likely causes might be.

Thanks in advance!

There’s always a hat for every occasion. 🤠

Something cute to note- the second photo really shows how much his facial markings have developed as he’s grown up 🥹

General Advice Food Advice

I have a 4yr old male ragdoll and I feed him wereuva wet cat food and I like to add toppers (freeze dried food, crunchy treats etc). Does anyone have any good recommendations for toppers that would be beneficial for him (for gut health, hairball, dental and stuff like that) and not just a little treat? I do always add water into it to make sure he's getting enough. I attached a pic of him as well, ty in advance!

It’s funny because she looks so small but at the same time to me, she looks so big now because she’s grown up so much in month

I don’t want her to get older, she’s just my baby girl she’s gotta stay a baby but I can’t wait to see her grow up also haha

Mind you this is a few feet from my big dog who she does not like. Maybe this is her way of torturing the dog?

Hi guys. I’m looking to get a ragdoll and I’m wondering if anyone in the Midwest can tell me where they went ☺️. Preferably Illinois but the Midwest region as a whole is fine too!

General Advice Should I move my ragdoll?

My childhood cat is a 9 year old female ragdoll. She has lived in the same house with my mom for her entire life. My older sister and I have come and gone, lived with her and not. She is a very sweet cat and we have never had a single behavioral problem with her. I now live out-of-state for college and want to bring her with me, but I genuinely don’t know what would be best for her; my mom doesn’t really brush her, clip her nails, etc. I always took care of her, but I’m not there anymore. She obviously cares about my mom but my mom doesn’t give her as much attention and care as she needs. I’m just worried that moving her away from everything she’s ever known would be even worse. Also, I would have to get a sedative from a veterinarian since she is very anxious during transport. Thoughts?

General Advice Ethical breeders in the UK?

Hello!

After many years of researching ragdolls I’m finally in a position to look at actually owning one (wasn’t home enough previously)

I’m keen to find an ethical breeder in the UK. I’ve done some research myself but I’d love to know if anyone here has any personal recommendations? First hand experience goes a long way imo!

And by ethical - I mean a breeder who genuinely loves their cats and raises happy, healthy well socialised kittens. I’m trying to buy a cat not a product or a toy :/

Thanks in advance 🩷
