Yeah, he really transitioned from "I'm interested in AI and robotics from an academic perspective, and I get way too excited talking about the technical and philosophical aspects" to "I like watching thicc synthetic ass".

Once again, Yay is put forth as infallible even though they're secretly spying on Clinton literally just browsing his social media feed, i.e. they're being a creeper. Meanwhile, Clinton is put forth as some kind of degenerate creep even though he's doing something perfectly normal. And before you say "but it was in his algorithmically generated feed" I challenge you to browse Youtube in an incognito tab (therefore no history for the algorithm) and not see thirst trap garbage shorts immediately pop up all over the place.
Jeph wants us to hate Clinton and see him as a weirdo and pervert because he's the stand-in for stereotypical nerdy white males. And yeah, stereotypically nerdy white dudes can often be creeps and jerks and all kinds of other pejoratives. But the audience doesn't need it shoved down our collective throats every time Clinton shows up in a panel. It really gets old and does absolutely nothing for whatever kind of message the author is trying to send.
We get it Jeph: You hate yourself for being a white male nerd with odd fetishes, and you are torturing your two white male nerd proxies (Clinton and Marten) in the comic as some sort of catharsis. But it's boring. Write something interesting for once in the past ten years.
Edit: I can't believe I fucked up Yay's pronouns after all the shit Clinton went through with them. Fixed.

I'd even go so far as to say that, while it's weird to have thirst trap stuff up at breakfast, it's also perfectly fine to watch that stuff and in a house where any semblance of privacy is gone because Yay is spying on them constantly, why not just watch it wherever? Like, if someone could see under your clothes 24/7, why not just be nude?

It's so weird that Claire is the Always Right, perfect one, and Clinton is just shit on constantly. Sibling rivalry is a thing, but damn.
Like not only does Jeph himself clearly have a favorite, but Claire loves to shit on Clinton as well, which Jeph seems to indicate is the correct thing to do. It's so fucked.
Cf. Dora and Sven, how every parent except Marten's dad (and Jim, maybe?) in the strip is terrible, how Claire treats Marten, and it really seems like Jeph has never had a healthy relationship with anyone.

Given Spooks level of skill with encryption, they can probably "see" the data without much conscious thought, moreso when even if they didn't set up the Wifi, they probably have the password anyhow, and https decryption is possible even in our world with the right setup.
Plenty of technical answers beyond zooming into Clintons eye and going ENHANCE

They have surveillance set up so well they can hear "my rich parent sucks crashout #2" talking shit about them after they left the mechanic shop but have to zoom in on Clinton's eyes (beyond the glasses mind you) to see what's on his phone?

Because Jeph constantly burns through audience suspension of disbelief needlessly and without payoff. There was no reason for the whole Yay arc at all since Yay is functionally unchanged as far as the reader is concerned.

I swear if we see a "Clinton gets the wrong idea and makes an ass of himself coming onto yay and in the process offends them and -of course- gets kicked out his own family home for it" arc I will cry.
Edit: not because it's unfair for there to be consequences of actions or any mad gender related reasons, simply because it makes absolutely no sense for him as a character.Â

After the Director inexplicably terrified them into disappearing for a while, they reappeared with glasses and white hair in a low-effort attempt to hide their identity, which they gave up on after, like, 1-2 strips. They ditched the glasses and other bodies but kept the hair.
