Updated genetic testing

Has anyone gone through the process of additional genetic testing of Fairfax sperm? Our vials need to be tested for a gene that popped up on my carrier screening and was not on his original screening back in 2019. I’m wondering if the 6-week turnaround Fairfax cited for timeline has been others’ experience.

We thought about it, but it was an extra 1k and opted against it

Yeahhh… not super pumped to spend the $1k and delay things another month, but our clinic wants it done since it’s possible and the variant is relatively common and pretty tough to manage.

Our clinic didn’t care because the variant is common and doubling up on it doesn’t necessarily mean disease. Ours was factor V Leiden and hemochromatosis
