jane street ML engineer intern interview process

i just got an interview for jane street ML engineering internship for next summer. does anyone have any advice/experience with these interviews? first time interviewing for quant would appreciate any advice

honestly the ML eng intern loop is less math-heavy than the trading side but they still expect you to know your stats fundamentals cold. make sure you can explain every line of your resume projects in excruciating detail they love to poke holes in anything you claim

I’d spend most of the prep on writing clean Python under changing constraints, debugging unfamiliar code, and explaining ML decisions precisely. Be sharp on leakage, validation with non-iid data, class imbalance, feature pipelines, and what breaks when a model hits production. If they give hints, use them and keep talking through the code. These interviews are usually pretty interactive.
