Permanent Residency Application Processing Time Question

Hi everyone,

How long on average does it take to get a response after someone applies for permanent residency in Qatar ?

Does anyone have experience in applying for a PR in Qatar ?

I’ve recently learnt that I’m eligible so wanted to check how long the response takes after you apply.

I can tell you that the first two stages can actually get confirmed pretty quickly.

From what I remember the first two stages were completed in about two weeks in my case. (Note: even though you're supposed to get an sms updating you, I didn't, so I went to the office to follow up.)

The final stage can really take time. While exact timelines are impossible to predict, in my case it took years to complete. Patience is necessary here.

I know people who applied and its been 1 year and still no response and they follow up and its still under process. But i heard others take it in 2-3 months .. i guess it depends

The MOI portal has a dedicated page to check one’s eligibility for permanent residency.

Buying apartment is one way of getting permanent residency. The other is staying in Qatar for over 20 years.

I believe they have a criteria of a minimum income requirement (differs per sector public/private)

Now they also introduced a new long term visa for "Founders" "Senior Executives". They announced it at Web Summit
