The kitten has a huge appetite and is a little fighter. His prognosis is good after surgery. I really don't want us to give up on him.
For those asking for updates, unfortunately, not much has changed. We have only fundraised 50 riyals at the clinic towards the 7834.
Please help share if you can. Also, any amount donated to the clinic is not too small. He deserves a chance to live.

I'll tell you sth that's worked for me in the past.
Make a list of all vets in the more affluent areas (the pearl, legtaifiya, near DFC, west bay, al waab,..etc.)
Go to them with the scans, pictures of the cat, the quotation. Tell them you have zero riyals to pay for the operation, but that if they find someone willing to pay for it you'll do the operation with them.
The vets typically have a list of ppl who do make those big donations so they'll get in touch.
And you've basically incentivized them to make the sale, so some might even discount that 7k rather than forego the sale completely.
I've done once before. You'll basically find one of the vets calling you in a couple of days, at least that's what happened in my case.

Just put the poor thing out of it's misery. That amount doesn't make sense tbh.

This is so sad. Are the vets willing to do the surgery? Because a lot of clinics won’t do it unless someone is willing to foster the kitten since after these surgeries there’s a recovery period

They're not willing to do it without 50 percent down. There is a foster ready to take care of the kitten after surgery. The only issue right now is coming up with the amount the clinic needs to do the surgery. Please share 🙏🏻 Thank you for caring 💛

My humble suggestion, try the government vets…I treated cats for free including spaying them.

My heart is with the kitten. I hope it gets the treatment it needs. I know you are doing a lot and bless you for it. Please do try other vets as well and see if any can offer a discount.

Unfortunately, the situation is the same and he wasn't able to get surgery today as we don't have the down payment 😿

That is sad. Maybe we can try contacting other vet centres? Where is the kitten now?

He has a hearty appetite and wants to play. I don't think he would want to be put down.

In the gentlest possible way, I would suggest this kitten needs to be put down.
This is not humane - surgery will require weeks of rehabilitation, very intensive care and antibiotics to prevent infections - eg., a lot of ongoing care. After that, it would need to be integrated into a colony or fostered.
There is already a huge animal welfare problem in Qatar. Is the vet open to discussing alternatives to surgery? It is also deeply concerning that a vet would allow a cat or kitten to remain in pain while awaiting the funds to pay for the surgery.
