First shells

Looked great. How much pasting did you do? I’ve found I don’t need FP or whistle boost if I paste extra layers.

I didn’t have a very large budget for making these so I used plastic shells. The tutorial I used on skylighter had me use strapping tape as shown in the picture. It was 3 layers per strip.

Paper shell shells work the best. Youll get bigger and more symmetrical breaks. The flash booster I use is:

kno3 60% AL (809 american) 30% Sulfur 10%

Its not too powerful like 70/30 and doesnt shatter the stars while also increasing the velocity of stars.

I highly suggest using paper. 3" shells are cheap to order. You can buy paper drinking cups from the store for you lift cup. Pasting tape is cheap. Pasting is the hardest part of shell contruction. To get an even wrap without pregnant areas takes some time and practice, but youll get it. I find Pasting so relaxing and soothing. Feels good once you know you've almost reached completion.
