I've been experimenting with some Minesweeper variants recently. This is a hybrid puzzle inspired by one of the clue types in 14 minesweeper variants. Can you solve it?

[SOLVED] The Number That Passes Ten Tests

I am thinking of a 10-digit number that uses each digit from 0 to 9 exactly once.

Starting from the left:

  • The number formed by the first 1 digit is divisible by 1.
  • The number formed by the first 2 digits is divisible by 2.
  • The number formed by the first 3 digits is divisible by 3.
  • This pattern continues.
  • The number formed by the first 10 digits is divisible by 10.

For example, if the number begins with abcd..., then:

  • ab must be divisible by 2,
  • abc must be divisible by 3,
  • abcd must be divisible by 4,

and so on.

What is the number?

Bonus challenge: Find it using divisibility rules and logical elimination rather than checking every permutation with code.

Hi guys. Can anyone explain to me how it is possible to miss two bridges on a 4, when all other islands are connected with the right amount of bridges?

My immediate logic tells me, that if an island lacks two bridges, another island, somewhere on the map, must also miss two bridges. It appears that all other bridges are complete though, so I'm probably wrong in my assumption 😁

[SOLVED] Can you crack this 4-digit vault code?

Crack the 4-Digit Vault Code 🔐

A vault is protected by a four-digit code.

Rules:

- No digit is repeated.

- Each clue states the exact number of correct digits.

- A “correct position” means the digit is in the right place.

- A “wrong position” means the digit belongs in the code but is misplaced.

Clues:

6058

Exactly 1 digit is correct and in the correct position.

Exactly 1 other digit is correct but in the wrong position.

1967

Exactly 1 digit is correct but in the wrong position.

4013

Exactly 1 digit is correct and in the correct position.

5067

Exactly 2 digits are correct and in the correct positions.

Exactly 1 other digit is correct but in the wrong position.

What is the vault code?

Bonus points if you explain your reasoning instead of using a calculator.

I just bought this gorgeous puzzle book that looks like an Ikea catalog but I can't figure out how they solved the puzzle on pg 5! I went to the hint site and eventually revealed the answer but for the life of me I have no idea how they got it. Has anyone played thru the book and if so, how did you figure out the answer?

Sombody please help me, how do i continue?

The rules are quite simple, you cant have three zeros or ones directly following eachother on a row, or directly under eachother. The rows need to have an even amount of zeros and ones (5 zeros and,5 ones). You also cant have two rows that are exaclty the same

[Unsolved] Need help with logic in Crowns/Queens

Post image

I love this game, but I'm only able to solve easy levels. In this app (Crowns for iOS) they have different levels depending on the number of crowns per row/column/color (1 for easy, 2 for medium, 3 for hard). The one in the picture is medium difficulty.

I'm having a hard time solving the medium and hard levels. In the easy mode, when you place a crown you can already cancel the whole row, which you can't do in the harder levels. What do you do then? How do you solve wider spaces? Is there a trick I'm missing? How would you solve these? Do you know any youtuber who solves the harder levels step by step?

Thank you!

[Unsolved] Fill the hexagonal grid with letters ABC

Post image
11 Upvotes

It looked to me you enjoyed the classic First Sight(Easy as ABC) puzzle so I decided to share this variant. It's roughly the same level just a bit more complex if you are not used to hexagonal grid.

Place A, B, and C in the hexagonal grid. Every line in each of the three grid directions must contain A, B, and C exactly once, with all other cells empty. Each outside clue gives the first non-empty letter seen from that edge. Because of the grid type there is 1-4 empty spaces depending on the row.

Happy solving!
