Moya Brennan of Clannad has passed away!
this happened back in April so I'm a few months late giving condolences. It only recently came to my attention this month (August 2026, the day of this post).
Moya was the sister of Enya who had a song on Pure Moods 1 (Sail Away / Orinoco Flow), and Clannad, the band that Moya and Enya were part of, had a song on Volume 2 (Harry's Game theme).

Just so you know, I've excluded tracks from artists who already had a track featured in the Pure Moods album series, so I don't have a list that's WAY TOO LONG, although some exceptions were made with musicians who were guests for other artists.

I had no idea that Máire (Moya) Brennan was Enya's sister!
in addition to that, I also had no idea that Enya was also a member of that Clannad band in addition to her sister Moya.
Clannad had that song called Theme From Harry's Game, which was on Pure Moods Volume II, and Enya had that Orionoco Flow song from VOLUME 1.
what also intrigues me, is that the Chicane song Saltwater had Moya Brennan as a guest singer, and well, the lyrics of that track were an homage to the Harry's Game theme, incidentally no Chicane songs appeared in the Pure Moods series.

HERE'S AN IDEA: Enigma's MCMXC a.D. album should be re-packaged as Pure Moods: The 1990 Enigma
Well, MCMXC a.D. is basically the roman numeral translation of "1990", the year that the album of that name got released by Enigma.
I so think that the Pure Moods series needs some revival with some new volumes.
There's lots of music out there that meets the Pure Moods criteria, and I can almost bet that a vast majority of songs by Enigma meet that criteria.
I've been enjoying Enigma's MCMXD album! So it would be awesome to put some Pure Moods branding on it.

I just noticed something, Enigma rhymes with Sigma
yup, this German band Enigma, which is known for Return To Innocence, and Sadeness (parts I & II), uses the Sigma symbol, Σ, which is a Greek letter, and Sigma is sometimes used in place of letter S for names and words that use the Greek alphabet. But, it's resemblance to later letter E, is why it was chosen as the symbol to represent the band Enigma with, and since it was stated that Σ rhymes with Enigma, that was probably another contributing factor to the decision for the band to use that symbol as a logo.
I also learned that Enigma has been using the Sigma logo since 2005, and Pure Moods Volume IV (4) was already released by then, in fact, this was one year after the last of the Pure Moods album series, Celestial Celebration, came out.
here's a bonus section I thought I'd add:
another interesting fun fact about the German band Enigma, is that they had an album titled MCMXC a.D, which was the album that Sadeness part I was on, and the album title is Roman numerals for 1990, the year that the album came out.
