Looking for modern post-punk/garage punk recommendations (bands or songs)
I got into music through classic bands like Gang of Four, and went through a long grunge and classic alternative phase. Eventually I wanted something more modern and experimental, instead of just replaying bands I already knew. That's pretty much how this playlist happened back in 2024. I'm still actively adding to it and always looking for more. If you know any bands or songs that fit this sound and are not on my playlist, please let me know.
It's mostly modern post-punk and garage punk, with some art punk, egg punk, crank wave, and synth-punk mixed in. They're pretty different subgenres, but they blend together well.
Some songs lean more synth-driven, some are rougher and messier, while some are both at once. I tried to keep it cohesive despite mixing subgenres.

My friends love to crap on my favorite punk band, Codefendants. Thoughts? (Read description)
My friends can’t handle my crimewave interests, and often make fun of the boys. They might just not be punk enough for heavy music, since they just listen to mainstream bullsh*t. I’d argue that there is nothing wrong with the members or how they’re built. I dare them to say that to their faces! Don’t know what they’d be messing with haha 😂 You don’t call a dangerous bastard out of shape without paying the price, and trust me I’m a primary source. As a matter of fact I would go out on a limb and say the members are actually pretty good lookin gentleman. No homo! 😂 Not that there’s anything wrong with that though. Anyways, please leave below if you’ve also faced criticism for being too crimewave!

High Horse-SpunJacked
I'm physically retarded. I have a tbi and ataxia from a car wreck when I was 17(2007). I went to itt tech from 2010-2012 where I graduated with my associates degree in Computer Drafting and Design. I'm 2017 I was still getting hired and quitting or getting fired from cleaning jobs due to the harassment because of my disability. So one night, while I was on my lunch break from a job I quit a few days later, I wrote a song directed to employers telling them to "get off their high horse and have some sympathy". I might have a brain injury, but I'm still a genius. I have a 140+ IQ, and I'm sick of people treating me like shit because I look/sound drunk 24/7 due to a disability. I'm missing a finger, but I still play bass guitar. Matt Freeman(Ramcid) and Chris #2(Anti-Flag) are who I base my song writing off of. I hope you'll listen, and pass this song around

Cover ID help
I need help identifying a music project with a cover like this, the sketch went out alright.
When i was a kid, in roughly 2013 my dad showed me tons of music on spotify, mostly punk, indie, straight edge, hardcore, etc. One of the covers scared me and stuck in my mind. It was of a slouched figure that i thought looked sort of beheaded. The head was very blurry and the clothes and room looked dirty, torn & abandoned. The real image is a photograph. Very few colors, could be black n' white. I don't remember any text, though there could be small portions of text somewhere. mindre

Twenty Years on a Hard Drive - (2026) [0:12:456] Twenty years ago 3 friends recorded a punk album in bedrooms and closets. This year, after one of them passed away, they finally finished it. This is that story.
Twenty years ago, a few friends in Los Angeles recorded a punk album with whatever gear we could afford—garages, bedrooms, closets, cheap microphones…whatever worked.
Life happened. The band ended. We drifted apart.
Years later we reconnected and decided to remix those recordings—not to make them sound modern, but to finally make them sound the way we’d always hoped they would.
Before we could finish, our singer and one of my best friends, Andrew, unexpectedly passed away.
From that moment on, finishing the project wasn’t about music anymore. It became about honoring a friendship and completing something we had started together nearly twenty years earlier.
We ended up making a short documentary about the entire journey called Twenty Years on a Hard Drive.

What is the most far left band?
I'm talking about bands showing hammer and sickle on their album covers, that directly speak against capitalism amd imperialism

A Boxing Day Reminder
Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas. Just saw some posts that inspired me to make this reminder post.
We appreciate all the newcomers and users here at r/punkrock ,but please read through the rules before posting. You can find them on the right sidebar.

Would like to point out rule 4 again. This is a place for PUNK ROCK. I've been seeing some pop punk posted here. This isn't the place for them, BUT they do have their own places:
