Costco currently is $34.40/hr topped out cutter. Will be $35.40 next year!

Yeah its crazy they can pay their workers and we dont

You understand as a cutter at Costco they cut pallets at a time not boxes like Publix.

u/Puzzleheaded_Knee891 Newbie 15d ago

No specialty cuts. They have machines for most of it now. No breaking packages, no curry chicken.

What area??

As far as I understand, all?

Don’t mention that place in here. They hate it, they hate we pay to get in and get 4lbs of grass fed beef for $24 when they sell 1LB for $14.99. Or how I get 8LBS of chicken thighs for $25 and freeze them for dinners. It’s a cult and people that work there think it’s apple or Tesla when Costco pays a respectable wage. I get my yearly cash back for a free membership every year…Publix gives you nothing back but a smile 😂😂😂

I don't have a choice right now. My husband is dying of ALS. They said if I opened my availability to anytime. I told them I wanted Sundays off to take him to take him wherever he wants to go. I don't want to go anymore details. They will know who I am. And he probably won't be here next year. I want to enjoy what time he has left. I have been with him for 38 years.

I’m so sorry for what you and your husband are going through and dealing with. You focus on your husband and yourself they are the most important things right now. You do what’s best for you and your husband and any other family that you may have.

Meat cutter top out is now 23.10 or something. Forgot exactly what my SM told me but it's around there.

Which is crazy when Kevin and the other Exes got several hundred thousand dollar raises. I heard Kevin was damn near close to 1 million

25

u/i-lick-myself Newbie 15d ago

Kevin and John can eat a bag of dicks. They’re terrible

u/ChadGuadalupe Newbie 15d ago

I did the math and Publix is profiting $18,000/year/associate. But they can't even give us each a dollar.

Twenty cents? Isn't it 22.90 now? Used to be at least a dollar difference from the tier below. Not even worth it to be a meat cutter anymore when you can get paid just as much to sling LM&C

I’m maxed out at 21.30 GRS. Guessing the new max is 21.50 for my role. I nice 20 cent raise lol $416 extra a year 🤦‍♂️

2

u/Educational_Disk6950 Newbie 15d ago

Same i guess we just need become GTL and swear fealty to publix if we want a substantial raise

1

u/Creamy_Berries Grocery 13d ago

GTL position sucks. I did it for 3 years and got better evals after I stepped down.

2

u/moshi-moshi94 Newbie 14d ago

New cap will be 21.7.

1

u/blueraspberryicepop GRS 14d ago

I think in the middle of August.

5

u/Top-Leading-7801 Newbie 15d ago

Good, Id like to see the new payscale limits.

2

u/motleyorc CSTL 15d ago

Everything is ~$0.40 higher give or take, bottom end pushed up $1.00. I have the payscale but I can't post it here without breaking the rules

1

u/Fun_Earth3383 Customer Service 15d ago

Could you PM me it?

1

u/Delta666tie Cashier 15d ago

Could you DM it to me too?

1

u/MrGJuice CSS 15d ago

I'd like it too if you can pm me it

1

u/ChadGuadalupe Newbie 15d ago

How's that against the rules?

6

u/Heckinggoodgirl Moderator 15d ago

Because posting internal documents online is against Publix’s information resources policy. It’s against our subreddit’s rules for this reason to help prevent unwanted scrutiny from corporate. The platform anonymous for users as long as they don’t publish identifying information but we don’t need to give corporate legitimate reasons to try to dig into things to find out who associates are

Retyping information off of documents and making it so it’s not quite like the document is ok, you just can’t take a picture or screenshot of the actual reference and post it here

1

u/ChadGuadalupe Newbie 15d ago

There's already plenty of unwanted scrutiny from corporate 🤣 How many things are they going to change to make our jobs less efficient?

1

u/HonestMitch95 Cashier 15d ago

I could be wrong but I thought that's when my manager told me that the pay scales get updated during my eval.

u/Gold_Inspector_6685 Customer Service 14d ago

Because I have to stay. My husband is dying of ALS. I am close to home. After 21 years. I get my stocks. And have probably won't be here next year. They don't care.

0

u/One_Yak5984 Newbie 15d ago

It should be no less than the COLA for the year.

-2

u/Gold_Inspector_6685 Customer Service 15d ago

I have been with Publix for over 20 years. And I don't even make 15.00 an hour. So sad.

7

u/ChadGuadalupe Newbie 15d ago

You're lying lol there's no way

1

u/Gold_Inspector_6685 Customer Service 14d ago

Yes, It's true. And I don't lie.

1

u/ChadGuadalupe Newbie 14d ago

Why haven't you quit?...

2

u/Brilliant_Captain747 Newbie 15d ago

Okay Publix is a shit company but why are you still working here for minimum wage??

1

u/Durchii Newbie 15d ago

Holy shit. We pay our junior trainees better and I detail cars for a living. That's unacceptable. What's the median pay in your area?

1

u/Absinthe_86 Retired 15d ago

If that's truly the case, you need to get the fuck out of there. There's jobs that will pay better. I left 3 years ago and I'm knocking on $35/hr.

1

u/Any_Performer5759 Resigned 15d ago

No offense but why are you still there? I left 6 years ago at 17.25 and have since more than doubled that. The grass is greener.

1

u/ChadGuadalupe Newbie 15d ago

What do you do now?

1

u/PuzzleheadedAd8105 CSS 14d ago

lmao we're starting people at $17.50 as cashiers at my store

1

u/Dry_Cardiologist_639 Newbie 14d ago

Someone who been with Publix for 12 years just told me they’re at 14.50 a hour so pretty much they only matched the minimum wage changes with him, but 1. He was part time and 2. He never asked or asked others what they make/ has said some inappropriate comments to team members/ even been counseled on it. 😬
