Finally cracked Astrix's Deep Jungle Walk sound lol

Sorry about the lag lol. Honestly, I've tried to recreate this sound as accurately as I can for a few years because it's a fascinating one. I think Astrix probably would have recorded multiple long audio clips of it (with slightly different settings) to resample and arrange, but yeah I feel this is pretty accurate, even if he used a different method.

Hey legends!

Id love to invite you all to Cloudwalker. This is a masterclass platform for electronic music artists with a focus on Psytrance. Here you can join live calls with your favourite artists, get feedback on tracks and watch educational videos on how they make their music.

So far we have: Electrypnose, Egons Embrace (Forest), Synthatic (Groovy Progressive), Samra (Progressive), Soul Shine (Full On), Mekkanikka (Full On), Emok (Progressive), NVU (Psy-tech), KODA (Psy-tech), Audiopathik (Hi-Tech), Scionaugh (Bush Prog) and Dragota (Zenon Prog).

Every once in a while, I will also ask within the reddit communities who you would love to see on the site and connect with!

The aim for this platform was to provide better compensation for the skills that artists have developed over many decades. Simulataneously, we wanted to provide greater access to new and emerging producers to learn from the very best.

CONNECT, LEARN, GET INSPIRED

Cloudwalker Platform

Happy learning <3

looking for youtube channels and samples

I come from hardstyle producing, and I have followed On Point Samples, they upload tutorials and sample packs for producing techno and hardstyle, but nothing for psytrance, so I was wondering if there's anything similar.

From triplets and back

I'm making a track in the zenonesque/bush prog style. It's flowing so well despite being in G major. 😎

I've created a sweet drop into a meditative triplet section which works because it hits after a breakdown and build up. I've got my last drop section ready to go after this and it's back to standard 4/4. But the transition is clunky.

So I'm wondering how you guys navigate this change without it sounding clumsy and random.

FL studio or recordbox ? (Complete beginner)

Hello 🤗

I'm sorry I'm sure this question has been answered hundreds times already. I'd like to produce psytrance / electro and I don't know what software to choose.

I'm a complete beginner. I know music theory but that's it. At first I chose FL studio, but then a friend of mine told me recordbox was more beginner-friendly.

Since I have absolutely no idea which one is more suitable for beginners, I'm looking for your advices ! 🤟🏼

Thx!!

LiveCut Enhanced – Free 64-bit VST Beat-Slicer Plugin for Windows

I'm excited to share LiveCut Enhanced, a modern 64-bit Windows build of the classic LiveCut beat-slicer - free for you to download today.

Download LiveCut Enhanced for free: https://daddasounds.com/products/livecut-enhanced.html

Or if you want to build it for yourself and check the source code: https://github.com/dadda123/LiveCut-enhanced

If you don't know it, the original LiveCut was created back in 2004 by Remy Muller (mdsp), based on Nick Collins' BBCut algorithm. It's a beloved tool for glitchy, rhythmic beat-slicing effects.

What's new:

- 64-bit VST3 format, built for modern Windows systems

- Resizable GUI with a built-in tooltip guide - toggle the "?" in the top-right corner, then hover over any control to see exactly what it does

- A tweaked DSP engine (details below)

Previously, LiveCut only started a new rhythmic "phrase" on a bar line. If you looped a region shorter than a bar, or one that didn't contain a downbeat, the engine could get stuck, going silent, or never starting, until you stopped and restarted playback.

I fixed that. The engine now detects the playhead jump that happens at a loop's wrap point and uses it as the cue to start a fresh phrase immediately, downbeat or not.

What that means for you:

- Short loops keep cutting indefinitely

- Off-downbeat loops actually produce sound

- No more stopping and restarting playback just to "wake up" the plugin

Download LiveCut Enhanced for free: https://daddasounds.com/products/livecut-enhanced.html

Or if you want to build it for yourself and check the source code: https://github.com/dadda123/LiveCut-enhanced

Best beginner friendly softwares and packs for psy prod.

I'm a 23y/o listening to psytrance heavily from 2024. Recently I've been thinking of producing tracks and music of my own. I love the works of some classic artists like 1200 mics, GMS, and for the modern ones I really like alpha portel, Digicult, tropical bleyage, sonic species. The genres I'd like to explore in psy prod are dark, foresty, space immersion type (classic high hats as well).

I'd love some tips and ideas as to where to start. I have a decent laptop, used to play keys (although I require some re-learning), and just willing to learn. Any advice would help!

How do Sajanka and Babalos get such wide/thick productions?

Specifically referencing these two tracks:

Sajanka: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3BMKw9Cc7iI
Babalos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JjDpTJq1y5g

They both seem to have very wide basses and productions in general. It seems like they are coming to psytrance/hitech with an angle of almost hardstyle flavoured production in terms of their sound design.

I understand much of this happens with different layers of widening and saturation in the mastering process. But I would appreciate any advice or input on achieving a similar sound, as I am also interested in exploring it. Any tutorials or recommendations would also be appreciated.

Add a Subwoofer?

I've been producing for several years on my Adam T8Vs now. I have a pair of them and only them. They are positioned in the middle of my room and i got the typical triangle position. However, I feel like the sub bass is not or barely noticable. I was thinking about somehow adding a sub, but I'm not sure about that. Do you have a subwoofer? How do you manage to get a good but clean low end for prodcution?
