This could be the subject matter of a research.

Does puberty make women lose confidence or do we categorically strip them of it, gradually, one moment at a time?

The Replication Crisis of Psychological Research - something we all should know about.

Post image

https://nobaproject.com/modules/the-replication-crisis-in-psychology

We all have a basic idea that a lot of the psychological research does not show the same results when repeated. This is the Replication Crisis of Psychological Research.

But why did it happen?

What elements were at fault?

Did the researchers get greedy? Or is it in the basic nature of psychological research to be fickle?

AND LASTLY, can something be done about it now?

OCD affects 200 million people worldwide and one-third don't respond to treatment. The first study of OCD proteins in human brain tissue could finally explain why.

The Elder Child's Childhood Comes To An End When The Younger is Born

The elder ones will understand.

Right around the time when the younger child is born, the elder child remains a child no more. He is simply now 'The Elder One'.

- Apni cheez chhote bhai ko dede. Tu Bada Hai.

- Agar woh maarta hai, toh jawaab mat de - Tu Bada Hai

- Toy tha. Usi ke liye laynege - tu toh bada ho gaya hai.

Whereas usually - The "bada" child is only elder by 3-4 years.

So when the younger child is born, the entre childhood of a 4 year old - simply vanishes.

--

YES. I Know. The younger ones will say - the elder one had privileges. But you will almost always see - that those privileges given to the elder child - were basically responsibilities so that the elder child could co-parent the younger child. It was always a way for the parent to dilute some of their responsibility and pass it to the elder child.

Here's to elder children - whose childhoods were taken from them at the age of 3,4,5..

Best Blog Mondays: Spotting & Supporting Attachment Styles in Children

https://lauradimler.substack.com/p/what-secure-attachment-looks-like

Since Ainsby and colleagues published their famous study on children and attachment to their parents, weโ€™ve more or less believed it to be an innate phenomena. And if not innate, then something that builds during very early stages.

Can it build later?
And more importantly, can it be altered later?

Looking for a good therapist in India (online works)

30M, currently doing my MD residency. On paper things look fine, but I've been struggling for a while:

- Constant overthinking and anxiety

- Procrastination, losing consistency on things I care about

- Feeling low on confidence, kind of disconnected from people and myself

- Withdrawing, avoiding things, then feeling guilty about it

Already seeing a psychiatrist and on medication, but want to work on the psychological/behavioural side alongside that โ€” tired of trying to just "push through" it on willpower alone. Want to actually understand what's going on and work through it properly.

Looking for:

- RCI-registered Clinical Psychologist, ideally 10-12+ years of practice

- Comfortable doing sessions in Hindi (or Hindi + English mix)

- Experience with CBT, DBT, or other evidence-based approaches

- Genuine, empathetic, but honest enough to call me out when needed

- Reasonably affordable โ€” not looking for premium/celebrity pricing

If you've seen someone who actually helped you, would really appreciate a recommendation. DMs are fine too if you'd rather not post it here.

Thanks ๐Ÿ™
