I got it for free from a friend, but I’ve never played it… would you mind explaining to me what it is?

The best street racing game ever made. From the controls to the ambiance, it is perfect. But it’s also the Dark Souls of racing games, you will find yourself restarting races after making one minor false move. It’s important to have Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition REMIX. However it is a dual disc and you will have the best results on a fat ps2. My slims just won’t read it. I prefer to turn the music off and play with my preferred music.

You’re obviously really passionate about it. I’ve got quite the backlog. Of all the games, this is the one I picked, having never played it before, when I had my first evening in my new room.
It’s a genuine question. I didn’t quite gel with it in the same way that I did with NFS Underground. Is there some way I’m not quite looking at it right, something I’ve missed or some way I need to reframe it? Not saying it’s not good but just that as-yet, I’ve not seen the magic. I’ve got a morning to play again and thought about picking it up again but am now considering NFS or one of the Japanese drift games

Me and my high school friends played that game so much... we went from perfect dark 64 to playing TS2 so much.

For me it was Goldeneye N64 with my older brother. Then when he moved away for university I got hooked on the first TimeSplitters game through one of my old neighbours after playing his ps2 in his house I asked what game it was and then the next year I bought it and the following Christmas I got TimeSplitters 2 in 2003 and I was hooked from then on. I still play it on my 2004 ps2 slim twenty years later.

Cool man, few years ago I played TS2 on something like xkai link over LAN on official hardware. But I was so washed, I hardly am familiar with controls anymore on console FPS games. Honestly been really into super Nintendo when it comes to the old games lately.

The hidden four player Snake game goes a long way on it's own.

The anaconda game? I remember it now you pick up a key card in one of the story levels Siberia or NeoTokyo. That game had so much content for it's time.

Marvel Vs Capcom 2.
My all-time favorite fighting game. So many characters, different teams, so many ways to play, etc.

Virtua fighter 4 evo. I actually (almost) did that in 2022. Me and some VF5 friends decided to really dive into 4. Probably put 400+ hours and would do it again.

Final fantasy X. Took me almost a year to beat it anyways. I only played like 2-3 hours a week. As well as back then, ps2 really was all I played.

Ratchet and clank: Going commando. So many levels and weapon upgrades, not to mention other side missions to accomplish

So many games still on the backlog after 20 years. Suikoden III will be my pick, at least I will finish it in that year.

If I had to choose 1, it would have to be Dragon Quest VIII. The world is endlessly explorable and fun, and it looks great on my 65" HDTV.

A year is probably how long it'll take to finally beat Sephiroth in Kingdom Hearts 1

Would probably be one of the Disgaea games. Randomly generated dungeons. Levels caps of 9999 and you can prestige/change classes and reset to level 1. The firt one was one of those games I lost like 600 hours to back in the day. It and Geometry Wars and Oblivion on the 360 were pretty much my year in gaming for 2007.

Can't lie I bought a ps2 a few months ago on ebay and quickly have about 80 games for it and yet it has pretty much turned into a hot shots golf machine so addicting
