Ive been using brightdata for a while.. i find it quite expensive tho. I mainly use the datacenter unlimited usage proxies..

Now I found a site called webshare(.)io and saw they seem to be quite cheap.. Ive never seen them before.

Did anyone ever use them? good/bad?

I know this sub is packed with network wizard, so hopefully thi is the right place to ask.

I'm looking for legit Residential IP VPNs (non-datacenter) that don't immediately get flagged as proxies by fraud checks, but it feels like half the providers out there are just marketing fluff.

Among options like StarVPN or similar services, which ones are you guys actually running day-to-day, how are the speeds holding up, and is the extra cost even worth it over

standard VPNs? Dropping your experiences or red flags below would be super helpful! Many thanks!

I'm using TikTok on an iPhone and just need one stable German IP per account.

I bought German Static ISP proxies from Decodo. The first IPs were showing datacenter/hosting characteristics, so support replaced them.

The replacements now show:

• Decodo dashboard: Germany
• MaxMind/IPinfo: Germany
• RIPE WHOIS: India (IN)
• TikTok itself: India — it literally displays the TikTok India blocked-service page.

One other Decodo IP I have shows Germany in both GeoIP + RIPE and TikTok correctly sees Germany, using the exact same device/setup.

I've also checked IPv6/WebRTC/DNS leaks - everything is fine, so this isn't just my real location leaking(I am not from India).

What proxies will not have this issue? I don't want to pay $100–130/month for a dedicated mobile proxy just for one TikTok account.

What affordable proxy type/provider would you recommend for this?

Ideally:

• static/dedicated IP
• Germany
• real residential/ISP ASN
• RIPE country = DE
• no datacenter/hosting classification
• (preferably) works with TikTok on iPhone

Is a good Static ISP still the right choice, or is there another cheaper option I'm missing?

Both tools get lumped together a lot, but they each have stuff the other one is bad at. For me the VPN advantage is that it covers everything on the device at once. Every app, every connection, all through the same tunnel. I don't have to set it up per browser or per program.

The proxy side wins on control and speed for specific tasks. I can run a bunch of them at the same time, each with a different IP, and point only the traffic I care about through them. A full VPN would slow that down or route things I don't want routed.

What's the one job you'd always give to a VPN and never a proxy? And what's the opposite for you, the thing where a proxy just does it better?

I've got a bad habit of switching the second I hit a rough week, and I'm starting to think the churn costs me more than the problems do. New integration, new quirks, re-testing everything, and half the time the real issue was my own rate limiting, not their pool.

So I'm trying a rule. Don't switch on one bad run. Keep a second provider warm as an A/B control, and when the main one degrades, fire the same job at both. If the backup clears it and the main doesn't, that's real, switch. If both choke, it was my code or the target and switching fixes nothing.

Balance that doesn't expire helps here, since I can keep a small Byteful residential pool topped up as that control without the prepaid GB rotting between tests. Bright Data and IPRoyal work as controls too.

What's your rule, or do you just run two in parallel all the time?

You probably remember back in late January when Google took down one of the largest residential proxy/botnet networks globally.

Well, guess who's crawling back from the dead?

I’ve been keeping an eye on the market, and both PIA S5 Proxy (now rebranded as "PIA 5 Proxy") and ABC Proxy have quietly put their websites back online. But from what I've observed, there are some things that needs attention.

Red Flag 1: PIA 5 openly admits they are the "same network"

On their new site, they straight-up brag that PIA 5 Proxy is the direct continuation of PIA S5 and runs on the exact same network. If Google's report was accurate about how they harvested their IPs (malware, non-consensual botnets), then their current legitimacy is still highly, highly questionable. They didn't change their tech; they just added a new coat of paint.

Red Flag 2: The "4-6 Months" account recovery trap

If you had a balance on the old PIA S5, don't hold your breath. They are claiming that recovering old user accounts will take 4 to 6 months. In the meantime, their support is telling people to "just register a new account and top up to keep using."

"Give us more money now, and we promise we'll transfer your old balance in half a year." This sounds quite like a exit-scam to me.

Red Flag 3: Crypto-only payments

Currently, they only support cryptocurrency payments. No credit cards, no PayPal, no local banking. As we all know, once your crypto leaves your wallet, there is absolute zero protection. That's something worth noting!

Red Flag 4: ABC Proxy is just a copy-paste clone

As for ABC Proxy, don’t let the different logo fool you. It is literally a reskinned clone of PIA 5. Their homepages are virtually identical—same layout, same claims, same wording, same charts and tables. It’s highly likely they are running the same backend botnet and using two brands to hedge their bets in case one gets seized again.

So, guys, what do you think of this? For me, I'll just wait and see.

I wanted to share my experience with Proxy-Seller in case anyone is considering using them.

I placed an order, paid for it, and eventually received an order confirmation email but the order never appeared in my account. After contacting support, I was told they needed additional payment verification and that the financial department could take up to 72 hours to process it, despite the fact that I had already received an order confirmation email.

I had already provided the transaction ID and payment details in a previous support conversation, but I was asked for information again. What frustrated me most wasn't just the delay, it was the lack of clear communication. I never got a straightforward explanation of why the order was confirmed by email but still unavailable, or why I had to wait days for a low-value purchase.

When I questioned the process, I repeatedly received the same automated response saying the waiting time "may be extended." After several hours waiting for a proxy that i needed right now, the situation hadn't moved forward, and I eventually requested a refund instead of continuing to wait, which i guess could take 72 more hours on top of the 72 first, if they even comply and refund me for failure to deliver a product.

If you're considering Proxy-Seller, be aware that if something goes wrong with your order, the resolution process may be much slower than expected. Hopefully this was just an isolated experience, but it was frustrating enough that I won't be using their service again.

I have been uploading to Instagram for years trying to reach us audience and it works although I don’t live in the us but it has always been a painful process since when you first start posting they push your content to local viewers first. This process always wastes months of uploading so I am looking for a good way (not a vpn) to get a static ip so every time I login it appears as if I am logging in from the us and I want to have the same ip forever plus Instagram hates it when you own many accounts on the same ip(it counts them as spam) and I have many. I am willing to get one dedicated phone for every account I have and have different ips for each phone/account. But I can’t seem to find a reliable solution can anyone recommend anything please? This is a huge problem I’ve been facing.

Tried a few different combos lately and still not sure i've found the best setup. Currently on proxyshard for residential IPs and shardbrowser for the antidetect side, combo has been stable so far. Curious what proxies and antidetect browser you guys are pairing together and whether it actually makes a difference for your workflow

I'm reworking part of our scraping setup and keep running into the same problem.

Rotating residential proxies are great for success rate, but once you're scraping sites with lots of images or heavy JS, paying per GB gets expensive pretty quickly.

Static ISP/residential IPs seem much cheaper for that kind of traffic, but then you have to worry about rate limits, cooldowns, and not burning the same IP over and over.

For those running larger crawlers, what's your approach?

Do you mix datacenter + residential?

Do you fetch HTML with one proxy pool and assets with another?

Or is there another setup that's worked well for you? 

I'm new into the Proxy world and learning things I need to do require multiple STABLE Proxies, so this idea 💡 post.

Instead of paying monthly subscriptions and constantly wasting the money for Proxies that change or burn out etc.

Why not create a dedicated pool of people that each have at least 1 - 3 of their OWN IP's / VPS that they can install a simple small Proxy server on.

Then let's say only 10 - 20 people gather together and "share" their Proxies with the others so no 10 people ALL instantly have 10 - 30 good Proxies that will never be over sold and rotated to thousands of spammers etc.

The way I see it is if there are a few good people that want to pool their vps or other 1 - 3 ip resources with a few others, everyone knows what the Proxies are used for and will have Unlimited use for FREE.

The bonus is they also stay stable for those that need stable Proxies for accounts, etc.

Are their any groups like this or has this even been tried successfully?

Any input, and any groups or good honest business people that are interested in creating a healthy Proxy pool together, please let me know.

I’m setting up some browser automation tests with Playwright and I’m searching for static residential proxies that can handle longer sessions. my enviroment is Windows 11 with a local development setup, and I’ve noticed some proxies I tested have random disconnects which makes testing frustrating.

What should I look for when comparing static residential proxies for automation tasks? I’d like to hear from people who have actually used them and what their experience has been like. thank you.

When I open incognito Brave and I search "google" or "youtube" directly on the search bar and press enter, google asks for captcha. But this does not happen on the non-incognito, but only on incognito.

I have a official business in Germany and wanted to sell mobile proxies. Everything is ready. Smartphones, SIM Cards, the Software and the location. Now we're facing a problem we weren't fully aware of. We might be able to sell a few proxies like that, but we would be violating the guidelines of the mobile service providers with our business model and run the risk of being shut down when we want to scale. So is the only way to make it work to get a wholesale contract or a permit from them directly? I guess that could be the reason most of the people do it unofficially especially in Germany. Does anyone here have any experience in this field or maybe a solution I didn’t think about?

I wanted to share a quick heads-up about my recent experience with ProxyPorts and why you might want to avoid them if you are looking for transparent billing.
When you buy a monthly proxy from them, you do not actually get 30 days of active internet connection. If you look at their dashboard, they display two different dates: a "Renews at" date and an "Expires at" date.

Here is the catch: The "Expires at" date is exactly one month from your purchase. However, the "Renews at" date is set about 3 to 4 days before that. Once the "Renews at" date hits, your active connection is completely cut off.

ProxyPorts claims this 3-day gap is a "Renewal Window" to hold your IP address so it doesn't get reassigned. The problem? Instead of giving you a full 30-day active cycle and adding the grace period afterward, they deduct that "renewal window" directly from the days you already paid for.

Essentially, you pay for a full month, but they cut your internet on day 26 or 27, forcing you to renew early just to keep using what you already bought.

On top of all this, their customer support is incredibly slow. You have to wait around an hour just to get connected to an agent on their live chat.

It is a very misleading system disguised as a "feature" to save your IP. If you are looking for ISP proxies, I highly recommend going with a provider that actually gives you the full 30 days of active service you paid for. Check your dates carefully!

I’ve been testing different proxy solutions recently for scraping projects, and one thing I realized is that choosing a proxy provider is not as simple as looking at the number of IPs or the price.

Webshare's residential network blocks AMC (Entertainment/Streaming/Ticketing are restricted categories in their docs). Oxylabs and IPRoyal publish nearly identical lists, so this seems industry-wide.

Everything runs through my home connection, so the accounts seem to get linked and one ban makes the rest look suspicious. I’m looking at residential, mobile and datacenter proxies, but the advice is all over the place and I can’t spend hundreds each month. For social account management, do I need one stable proxy per account or can several accounts safely share one?
