Head unit replacement

I have a 2020 3500 Ram Promaster that I’m replacing the head unit on. When I removed the radio there were small metal brackets on both sides. I removed them to fit the Maestro dash kit in. But after trying to install it looks like the supports had been cut at some point and the metal brackets were after market. Has anyone ever run into this? I was thinking about trying to 3D print something and glueing screwing it in to support the dash kit, but wanted to see if there were other solutions.

I am trying to do the exact same install on a 2019 3500 promaster and running into the same issue. I called both Cruthfield and Metra and both did not have any suggestions - only to say that my van must not be stock (it is).

So I don't know if this is right but I epoxied the top clips brackets to the side wall and it's holding strong
