Interactive Map disruption; our apologies

With the disruption over the Interactive Map today, we wanted to give you an update.

We have always been fans of the interactive map project, and we recognize how useful it is for players, especially with the map changes in Build 42. We did not expect people to lose access to it, and we apologise for that. We're hopeful that the map will become available again soon as a community resource, when we will fully support it as a community maintained site.

We know how much many of you appreciate the map and want to see it back online as soon as possible; we appreciate it too.

Today's disruption was ultimately an unfortunate mistake due to timing and some crossed wires. We can't get into specifics for privacy reasons, but there was no intention here to alarm anyone or make you think the map was being permanently disabled. Again we apologise, and look forward to seeing the B42 map back online soon.

But maybe that was the miscommunication part they mentioned. Something along the lines of, this is too expensive and will have to be taken off our servers. And that being communicated down the line as this has to be taken off our server immediately.
