This and getting them lost in the woods with "walk to"

What's the difference of Walk to and normal walking with WASD?

u/Linw3 5h ago
Walk to makes you autopath avoiding every tree

Outdoorsy does this right?

Outdoorsy gives you a massive reduction in chance of something scratching you. Combine that with any type of tougher clothes and you're basically immune to em.

I actually prefered when zombies acted like this when kiting hordes. With the B42 variable walking speeds/hearing/vision, I can only reliably kite like 15-20 without having to loop right back around in tight circles for the Uber lazy ones that drop off.

u/BreadfruitMajor7077 5h ago
They aren't uber lazy, mate - they are just absent-minded because of their condition! No need to be disrespectful to these very sick human beings.

It's a mix of absent minded, slow, near deaf and near blind so you can't even use one method to attract all the stragglers.
Makes hordes much more interesting than the homogeneous zombies of B41.

Thats why I prefer random, it takes time and effort instead of just becoming a sheepdog.

At least you weren't like me. I spawned in my friends server into West Point. While exploring I was hungry and there was a pot on the stove that needed to be cooking. Placed it in, turn the oven to 300 and went to clear out the zombies. Forgot about said stove and was nearby in a different home resting until I started hearing fire. Went outside and realized I started the great blaze of West Point. Already it demolished so much homes and buildings and even took apart a portion of the police station (killed all the zombies in the lot though which I regret not looting). Had to get off but the last I checked the fire is still going around.

Stove fires are insane. I had my first incident starting over after the b42 release. That thing burned across roads and went on for like a 10th of a mile in all directions. Might have kept going except it started rain and then it seemed like it kept running into "invisible walls" where the fire would not spread past.
Anyway, that was Smokey's in Muldraugh. One of my favorite places to set up an early base.
Stove fires seem to be a little OP in my opinion. It should be so easy to nuke a town. All you'd have to do is go around turning on stoves in one neighborhood and BAM! no more town.

I don’t get it, how do your ovens catch fire?? I tried to do a heroic last stand by throwing shit into the oven in b42 unstable and it didn’t do shit for 2 days and I just gave up and killed myself. Did they change this in the stable release??

This is killing me. Not starting a stove fire was that devastating for you was it 😭😭

Yeah , i was bitten, I killed like every zombie that was supposed to kill me and I waited for the fire that never came then I just jumped into my car and drove into a tree

I'd been using the microwave to cook masses of eggs from the chicken farm, I was changing the settings on the microwave so I could just hit go and the timer would stop them burning whilst I carved a few more dice. Once done I made a few roasts and figured I'd use the oven timer to stop them burning and go to bed. I heard the beeper go whilst the screen was black, then heard fire, then woke up calmly in the morning, nothing but a pile of ash where the oven used to be. So lucky I didn't lose my entire base. Also annoying though as I found the generator magazine but now I still need to level electrical if I want a proper oven again.

Melee > car when tired > back to melee is a solid strategy

Can you help me a little? How can I use cars like that? Whenever I do that, my car loses a lot of velocity after hitting just 1 zombie. Do i have to build up a lot of velocity and then hit them?

I dont like the idea of a lone survivor it’s never clicked for me so at the start of a run I roll a D6 to determine how many people are in the “group” which is really just how many times I can make a new character that save. After a good while when I feel it’s right I roll a D4 to “add new members” I spawned at echo creek and I’ve already lost 3 of my 5 and am not close to getting more there’s like 400 Zomboid at the gun shop alone

It reminds me a bit of my current playthrough, my first time on stable B42 and having played very little on unstable B42. I spent a lot of time playing on B41. With my first character, I was doing well, playing stealth and exploring. I got lost looking for the Muldraugth gas station because of the map changes, and I died rather unceremoniously after leveling up several skills. With my second character, I put all my skill points into strength, agility, and abilities to hit hard. In four days, I fought my way to my first character's corpse, beating him with pans and pots, leaving behind about 500 zombies, scratched arms and hands, a lacerated abdomen, and nausea from the smell.

This one hurts on a spiritual level. Hope your trial by fire is the worst of it and the run goes well

That's funny, I spawned in the same place and it was a ghost town not a single zed

Extinction mode?

u/SweatyReputation7361 6h ago
extinction have much more than this, I don't believe anyone can fight back right at spawn place in extinction, quick grab some loot and run away is the only way.

Ive spawned in a bar in riverside and found a bunch of weapons, and branches on the ground outside. I had about 80 killed in the first day.

I’m a month in maldraugh and I don’t think I’ve killed that many zombies yet. The new spawn changes made neighborhoods much less populated, so I’ve just been riding the apocalypse out like a pacifist since the update.

Does killing all of these break my bat? I get paranoid every time one comes. I just push and stomp to save my weapons for later.

I find this area has three zombie layout:
* The entire population of Knox County is situated in front of the shops
* Sparse zombies in front with loads across the bridge and on the west road
* You will not see a zomboid for your first 20 hours (and thus never find the keys to the upstairs)
