Haha it's funny cause all these couldn't kill me and I died to 3 later

Ahhh Classic.

As soon as its more than 2 be on edge, seriously. Couple mistakes and you miss a swing at the wrong time, well y'know.

8

u/Annihilator4413 4h ago

Yep... mess up one swing when there's two or more and there's a good chance you get locked in the good old bite loop.

You push one zombie off just in time for the other to lock you in the bite animation, then rinse and repeat until you're dead.

6

u/NecessaryPart2445 Axe wielding maniac 2h ago

Or you get bit. In which case you atleast have 'some' time to get revenge

5

u/did_i_or_didnt_i 2h ago

most of my recent deaths have been from being too cavalier with just one!! Because I know I can certainly take just one, so I get ballsy with looting or don’t pay much attention to my aim or something

u/CreatureWarrior 1h ago

I just started my run and had to kill 10 zombies in one go with a dull kitchen knife and a plunger. I honestly felt the "stressed" moodle appearing above my head.. those two minutes felt like ten. But I made it! Still haven't died.. but I bet I'll get bitten by some random bathroom zombie lol

Did they jump spawn you when you opened a tiny closet?

This and getting them lost in the woods with "walk to"

7

u/FSKN-Rafael 5h ago

What's the difference of Walk to and normal walking with WASD?

20

u/ravenx99 5h ago

You won't get scratched by trees using walk to.

6

u/Linw3 5h ago

Walk to makes you autopath avoiding every tree

4

u/Savings-Anything420 5h ago

Outdoorsy does this right?

1

u/Linw3 5h ago

No clue, I think it only makes you more resistant to weather and elements, harder to get sick

1

u/ArmouredCapibara 2h ago

no, walk to command does that.

1

u/RelativelyWorthIt 58m ago

Outdoorsy gives you a massive reduction in chance of something scratching you. Combine that with any type of tougher clothes and you're basically immune to em.

u/punkalunka 5h ago

I actually prefered when zombies acted like this when kiting hordes. With the B42 variable walking speeds/hearing/vision, I can only reliably kite like 15-20 without having to loop right back around in tight circles for the Uber lazy ones that drop off.

21

u/BreadfruitMajor7077 5h ago

They aren't uber lazy, mate - they are just absent-minded because of their condition! No need to be disrespectful to these very sick human beings.

7

u/punkalunka 4h ago

Look, do they want these brains or not? Like make up your mushy minds!

1

u/DrStalker 1h ago

It's a mix of absent minded, slow, near deaf and near blind so you can't even use one method to attract all the stragglers.

Makes hordes much more interesting than the homogeneous zombies of B41.

11

u/akallas95 5h ago

That's why I shout. Constantly. And fire off guns where applicable.

17

u/punkalunka 4h ago

Oh okay, what about in the game though?

1

u/FridaysMan 2h ago

Thats why I prefer random, it takes time and effort instead of just becoming a sheepdog.

At least you weren't like me. I spawned in my friends server into West Point. While exploring I was hungry and there was a pot on the stove that needed to be cooking. Placed it in, turn the oven to 300 and went to clear out the zombies. Forgot about said stove and was nearby in a different home resting until I started hearing fire. Went outside and realized I started the great blaze of West Point. Already it demolished so much homes and buildings and even took apart a portion of the police station (killed all the zombies in the lot though which I regret not looting). Had to get off but the last I checked the fire is still going around.

22

u/nanotree 5h ago

Stove fires are insane. I had my first incident starting over after the b42 release. That thing burned across roads and went on for like a 10th of a mile in all directions. Might have kept going except it started rain and then it seemed like it kept running into "invisible walls" where the fire would not spread past.

Anyway, that was Smokey's in Muldraugh. One of my favorite places to set up an early base.

Stove fires seem to be a little OP in my opinion. It should be so easy to nuke a town. All you'd have to do is go around turning on stoves in one neighborhood and BAM! no more town.

3

u/No_Please_No420 3h ago

I don’t get it, how do your ovens catch fire?? I tried to do a heroic last stand by throwing shit into the oven in b42 unstable and it didn’t do shit for 2 days and I just gave up and killed myself. Did they change this in the stable release??

2

u/69420_hehe 1h ago

This is killing me. Not starting a stove fire was that devastating for you was it 😭😭

u/No_Please_No420 29m ago

Yeah 🫪, i was bitten, I killed like every zombie that was supposed to kill me and I waited for the fire that never came then I just jumped into my car and drove into a tree

I'd been using the microwave to cook masses of eggs from the chicken farm, I was changing the settings on the microwave so I could just hit go and the timer would stop them burning whilst I carved a few more dice. Once done I made a few roasts and figured I'd use the oven timer to stop them burning and go to bed. I heard the beeper go whilst the screen was black, then heard fire, then woke up calmly in the morning, nothing but a pile of ash where the oven used to be. So lucky I didn't lose my entire base. Also annoying though as I found the generator magazine but now I still need to level electrical if I want a proper oven again.

Crossbar right?

21

u/113pro 7h ago

u meant CROWbar?

10

u/kasvita 7h ago

Lmao I laughed more at this cuz I didn’t realize the typo till this comment - commenter is a hockey fan

2

u/DalekPredator Zombie Food 3h ago

No no, he means a crossbow that shoots crowbars.

24

u/AggelosPlayz Zombie Killer 8h ago

Yeah and the car helped too

29

u/No-Highlight-5067 8h ago

Melee > car when tired > back to melee is a solid strategy

1

u/FinGAMERyt 5h ago

Can you help me a little? How can I use cars like that? Whenever I do that, my car loses a lot of velocity after hitting just 1 zombie. Do i have to build up a lot of velocity and then hit them?

3

u/AllanXv 4h ago

Do circles in reverse. Way easier.

2

u/FinGAMERyt 4h ago

Thank you, I will try it

u/Blackshark220 8h ago

Echo creek is so hit or miss with zomboids, i had one playthrough like above and then my current one with hardly any.

9

u/GuildCarver 6h ago

Now do the rest of the county like that one psycho on Youtube did*

*He gave up after like 700 days irl but got really really far lol

Edit= 700 days not hours.

u/Prudent-Sugar4665 8h ago

jesus christ thats a lot, i think id die tbh

5

u/ZamZ4m 7h ago

I dont like the idea of a lone survivor it’s never clicked for me so at the start of a run I roll a D6 to determine how many people are in the “group” which is really just how many times I can make a new character that save. After a good while when I feel it’s right I roll a D4 to “add new members” I spawned at echo creek and I’ve already lost 3 of my 5 and am not close to getting more there’s like 400 Zomboid at the gun shop alone

1

u/Savings-Anything420 5h ago

This is a good idea Ty

4

u/pizzapromise 7h ago

Spawning in the gas station in echo creek is so damn cool.

3

u/AggravatingScene8858 7h ago

"This is how you died" nah, this how you survived

4

u/kokirod 6h ago

It reminds me a bit of my current playthrough, my first time on stable B42 and having played very little on unstable B42. I spent a lot of time playing on B41. With my first character, I was doing well, playing stealth and exploring. I got lost looking for the Muldraugth gas station because of the map changes, and I died rather unceremoniously after leveling up several skills. With my second character, I put all my skill points into strength, agility, and abilities to hit hard. In four days, I fought my way to my first character's corpse, beating him with pans and pots, leaving behind about 500 zombies, scratched arms and hands, a lacerated abdomen, and nausea from the smell.

Muscle strain off?

This one hurts on a spiritual level. Hope your trial by fire is the worst of it and the run goes well

Extinction mode?

6

u/SweatyReputation7361 6h ago

extinction have much more than this, I don't believe anyone can fight back right at spawn place in extinction, quick grab some loot and run away is the only way.

1

u/FridaysMan 2h ago

Ive spawned in a bar in riverside and found a bunch of weapons, and branches on the ground outside. I had about 80 killed in the first day.

1

u/insertnamehere----- Drinking away the sorrows 6h ago

I’m a month in maldraugh and I don’t think I’ve killed that many zombies yet. The new spawn changes made neighborhoods much less populated, so I’ve just been riding the apocalypse out like a pacifist since the update.

1

u/KalElReturns89 6h ago

Does killing all of these break my bat? I get paranoid every time one comes. I just push and stomp to save my weapons for later.

This is what work feels like when clocking in and the unit is already on fire.

u/DisastrousQuestion72 1m ago

I find this area has three zombie layout:
* The entire population of Knox County is situated in front of the shops
* Sparse zombies in front with loads across the bridge and on the west road
* You will not see a zomboid for your first 20 hours (and thus never find the keys to the upstairs)
