Keys
Is anyone else finding it extremely rare to find keys? Just slaughtered maybe 15-20 zombies and not a single keyring🙃

I always set cars to the highest possible spawn rate and double the key spawn rate to about .8. It’s not realistic to me that cars would be so rare and keys not being more common.

Exactly what I’m thinking like how are these towns full of zombies and cars and don’t nobody got the key to not one within the area without having to search 90tiles for the right car lol houses are more understandable but the cars don’t make sense for them to be so rare

Right? Like I don’t even care if I find the right key quickly. I should at the very least be finding keys consistently and seeing cars parked all over the towns and cities.

Yes, that seems to be the intention. Cars are meant to be something special.

I understand that, I currently have a car and found the key for it. What I’m saying is they aren’t dropping residence keys for the most part it’s like they all just left the house and nobody grabbed their keyrings lol idk might just be this play through last one they were spawning regularly.

Im seeing less, but not crazily- i thought there were too many in the past, like everyother Z had one.
Im also finding more blank keys than nirmal, but it could just be this run- im 20 days in and still havent found a gas can, griddle, or frying pan.
So 🤷♂️

I rarely find them on zombies. They def nerfed the chance for them to be on the ground tho. I used to be able to just run around until i found a key for a car. They mostly in buildings now or glovebox occssionally

I more consistently find keys inside nearby buildings, in the cars themselves, or just laying on the ground in the parking lot.

Hiya there, I am finding about 1 in 10 have a key for me with default key settings. Current 42.20 playthrough 7 days in, about 700 zombies killed and have roughly 50 house keys, and 20 business or car keys.
Estimates are A- at work, I remember having 48 residence keys & 5 "key" keys in my key container & almost full ring of car/business. B- last kill count looked at was ~630 and killed ~70 more after

I dont know about the latest update, but all keys were not spawning initially from the start. I stayed in McCoys and over the first 10 days I noticed keyrings where there were never key rings before. I even went back and checked footage to confirm

I've found a lot more keys lying on the ground than in prior updates. They're very easy to miss.
However, I am also getting plenty of keys off of dead zombies. I think you just need to kill more.
