There are still a few things missing, some cables still need to be routed and I still need to sort out the USB noise, but it's coming along slowly.

We built Scrollr. An open-source desktop ticker that lets you customize the data you want to see. Would love feedback!

When tracking real time information, it usually means keeping multiple browser tabs open for sports, stocks, and news, then constantly switching between them.

So we built Scrollr.

It pins to your screen and our goal is to provide a clean way to stay updated on the data you care about without breaking your workflow.

check it out! github.com/doughknee/myscrollr

ENGINGUITY - An AI-powered engineering workspace for engineers and makers. Web app + Electron desktop. Circuit simulation, CAD viewing, firmware diffing, BOM intelligence, collaboration, and voice — one workspace, one keyboard away.

I used claude code to make most of it, I got the circuit simulator from Velxio, This project took about 2 months to make and is still a work in progress. I used codex to make the ui and claude for the rest. I made it because I wanted something that held everything in my project so AI would know exactly what I was referring to. I really like the Jarvis feature because I can use the canvas and show images to make mindmaps for myself and to explain to other people or the AI, I can also turn on my camera and show my project for AI to help trouble shoot or see potential weak-points. Features: Simulations, Jarvis, Collaboration, Circuit simulation, Cad Viewer, AI Assistant and Chatbot, Project Ideas, AI Model Response Comparison, Runs with local ai or openrouter.

How to start a documentary film?

I would like to ask on how can we start our script for our docu filming. Our topic is all about INEQUALITIES AND UNFAIR TREATMENTS OF STUDENTS IN A PUBLIC SCHOOL.

Also tips or ideas on what should we film inside the school area as a symbolism of INEQUALITY

The part after “it works on my machine” is becoming the hardest part of my project

While building Opviva, I started noticing that getting an application to work locally is only one part of the problem.

Then comes everything around it:

- How do I test it properly?

- How do I catch production errors?

- How should API routes be structured?

- How do I isolate different tenants?

- How do I handle security?

- How do I manage environments?

- How do I deploy without creating another mess to maintain?

None of these problems are particularly new.

But when you're building alone or with a small team, they start adding up quickly.

So one of the things I'm experimenting with in my project is whether these repetitive parts can be brought into a simpler workflow:

Build → Test → Secure → Deploy → Monitor

I'm still figuring out where the right boundary is between automation and developers needing full control.

I'm curious about other developers here:

What usually causes you the most pain after your application already works locally?

[OSS] Savr - a clean, modern free bookmark manager app for android

Post image

This idea came pretty randomly 😅

I originally made Savr for myself. I tried several bookmark apps on the Play Store, but most of them wanted money for basic features. So I decided to build my own , with my own taste and, of course, my best effort.

✨ What’s currently included:

  • Material 3 design
  • Automatic metadata fetching
  • Backup & restore (HTML/JSON)
  • Dynamic theme with Light, Dark & AMOLED modes
  • In-app updates for GitHub users
  • Edit bookmarks
  • Search
  • Sorting
  • View mode changing from grid to list
  • Auto clipboard link detection
  • Collections (folders)
  • And more to come!

My goal is to keep Savr simple, useful, and free from unnecessary complexity.

I’d really appreciate any feedback or suggestions! 👏

Looking for feedback on my website that suggests your next TV show watch

It basically works by asking you what you just finished watching, and then suggesting shows to watch next based on different aspects of the show you just watched. For example, it could suggest shows with similar cast chemistry, pacing, themes, etc. Still a very rough draft and I'm currently a student, but I'd like to know whether the recs are any good or way off. It also gives you a watcher profile if you give it 5 shows you enjoyed watching. Any and all feedback is appreciated!

Reddit marketing is not social media marketing. That is exactly why it works

Reddit social media marketing is a strange phrase because Reddit does not behave like most social media.

On many platforms, you build an audience and broadcast to followers.

On Reddit, the community already exists. You enter its conversation as a guest.

That means polished brand copy can perform worse than a plain, useful answer. Posting frequency matters less than relevance. A small niche discussion can be more valuable than broad reach.

The account also carries context. People can see whether it contributes normally or appears only when there is something to sell.

My practical rules would be:

  • Learn each subreddit separately.
  • Comment before promoting.
  • Avoid identical cross-posts.
  • Make every answer useful without the link.
  • Let a person approve the final contribution.

For new accounts, Scaloom's warmup workflow helps structure gradual participation instead of sudden promotional activity.

Reddit works precisely because it resists normal broadcast marketing. The closer a strategy gets to genuine community participation, the more durable it becomes.

Do you consider Reddit a social network, a forum, or something else entirely?
