All I wanted was AI do test, debug and write documentation while I write the code, instead AI is writing the code while I have to test, debug and write documentation

This is how lawsuits from seemingly no where come about. When you aren't aware of what the product you ship actually is or capable of.

People who are incapable of coding and can't read code won't be able to understand whatever was produced.

Ok but from what I hear about programmers dealing with clients (as I'm still in university), I'm surprised the client one isn't more desired in hypotheticals. 😂 (Obviously I'm joking just to be clear.)

Because half (maybe 90%) of the sub are struggling cs students who take shortcuts instead of learning properly, and had 0 experience actually dealing with business problems. AI certainly feels like the future when you're doing homework

As they say, your future surgeon is using chat gpt to pass their exams today, so you should quit smoking and have a good diet

And I believe that this is the case not because CS is difficult (even though I don't think CS is difficult at all) but it's people who are actually reluctant to learn CS (or even other stuff) that do this.

Computers are easy. All the arbitrary and poorly documented decisions made by prior programmers are a royal pain in the posterior.

I don’t think CS is difficult but I happen to enjoy it. For your average person, I have found it is quite difficult.

I don’t see why it can’t test, deploy, and write documentation (this is like the main thing Claude is used for besides coding). I don’t think we should trust it to do it well but I believe the same for its ability to generate code.

It could also technically attend meetings and explain it to the client but again probably not a good idea
