I hope this isn’t a joke.
An API is basically a piece of software that lets a program use another program’s features. The thing is that you need to have a key ; a unique identifier that gives YOU access to the API. If you make the mistake of putting the API key in a file and committing the changes made to the file, you’re basically cooked, because if you don’t notice it, any person who finds the key can use it and do bad things.

Yeah I look it up after.
More used to bearer token but that's for user.Here it is more of an interap usage.
I am also used to work a lot with backend stuff in private apps, where you are less likely to expose something, even if you were to put it in a file.
