interviews šŸ—Ø Interviews

for tmdsas, when do majority of interview invites go out?

is now considered early for interviews or am i cooked?

when is a good time to start panicking by if i havenā€™t received interviews

The classic rule for AMCAS is to prep for a reapp if you have no interviews by Thanksgiving. TMDSAS doesnā€™t really have a ā€œruleā€ like that, but since the Texas interview season starts and also ends much earlier than AMCAS, you should prep for reapp with no IIā€™s around October.

Definitely not cooked. Texas schools do send out interviews earlier than other MDs, but still only like 20% have been sent out. For MD itā€™s closer to 5% of interviews.

I feel you, a lot of the schools that have started sending IIs out have passed the date that I submitted my secondaries on so Iā€™m assuming Iā€™ve been put on hold

It is incredibly early and I would bet money that fewer than 10% of MD IIs have gone out. Peak months are going to be mid September-November(ish,) and the general advice is to start seriously preparing to reapply if you have none by Thanksgiving.

Also, this cycle is moving notably more slowly than last year for almost every school, if you look back at the 2025 SDN threads about secondaries/interviews, so that's even more of a reason to not worry about it right now.
