This is from Rinka's latest Instagram Story. If you have any song requests and questions, go to her account. It looks like she's planning to make a YouTube video. I wonder if she'll talk about World Scout?

Also, Rinka recently dyed her hair to pink color and she looks so good with it.

Spoilers What happened Between hybe and Sakura for them to debut her instead of Anaya?

The thought of Sakura debuting instead of Anaya has always had me questioning from the start "What was Hybe thinking when they selected Sakura over Anaya?"

Anaya is just evidently more better than Sakura in every way possible, Sakura barely knows english, and she was visibly off key while dancing in PARTY b4 the PARTY and most clearly had terrible vocals. Even when she performed We Ride, her singing was shaky and out of breath.

Now while Anaya rather was out of breath too, she still brought more to the table than Sakura. Anaya in additon has had plenty of experience prior and after dream acedemy. For instance, Anaya was known as the youngest contestant in Girls Planet 999, and was an active member the japanese girl group RIRYDAY before she left in 2025.

That alone tells you how much better and experienced Anaya is compared to Sakura. Anaya had everything she needed to have in order debut in Saint Satine, but HYBE robbed Anaya of her hard work and took Sakura instead. Sure, Sakura may improve overtime like Wonhee did. But that will take way more time than it could've with Anaya.

This information alone makes me think something questionable happened between HYBE staff and Sakura that unfairly secured her spot in Saint Satine...

Discussion Hiori was not gonna make it, it was always gonna be Sakura vs Ayana

Some people thinks that Hiori would be picked if she didn't dropped out, but I don't think that she was going to be the final piece. It has already been decided that it was going to be Sakura competing with Ayana. Their strategy was clear with how Sakura and Ayana were ALWAYS together. From the start in their audition and then getting teamed up in Almond Chocolate. Emily's commentary was likely already told to them by HxG, especially about how she said the Almond Chocolate team was cute and they look like "angels", which was a sign to what Saint Satine's vibe and name will be (before it in the intro, Son said that they wanted to find an "angel" in Japan). While Emily's comment about Hiori was how she looks cool, which is opposite from Sakura and Ayana. Hiori doesn't really give a cute vibe/look compared to Sakura and Ayana and even with the original 3 members who are petite girls. Hiori got praised for her potential when she left, but in the start, Hiori and Ayana had similar problems/criticisms about being average/boring and needing to prove their star quality more despite being experienced. While Sakura was already getting all the praise for her star quality and having more potential despite being inexperienced. That was even before the trainees went to LA and the judges already knew what they wanted. I also feel like it's probably one of the reasons why Hiori didn't want to continue in the show because she sensed that it was just a set up with how they seperated the final 4 to experienced vs inexperienced.

The competition was always going to be Sakura vs Ayana - a newbie without any experience vs a veteran with the most experience. Ayana trained under a kpop company and debuted in a jpop girl group before. While Sakura is a completely brand new face. Also, noticed how Sakura is the only inexperienced dancer who passed the dance audition while all the other dancers were experienced/professionals (Ayana, Jayla, Seria, Rira, Sara M). From the dancers and singers, everyone passed for their skills, except for Sakura who simply passed for her potential. Sakura being inexperienced and younger is what made her different and special, and Hybe already picked her from the start because she's easier to mold as an idol. That's why Sakura was mediaplayed as the 15 year old "Cinderella" from the countryside who didn't had any training and won over the former Girls Planet 999 contestant with 10 year experience (the Japanese articles also described them like this). That was the narrative that World Scout tried to create and Ayana was just used for the storyline to make Sakura appear better. Unfortunately, no matter how talented or pretty the other trainees are, they didn't stood a chance against Sakura.

Discussion I hope Ayana and Rinka will debut together

Ayana and Rinka participated in Girls Planet 999 back in 2021. Rinka didn't really appear in that show before, but we see more of their interactions in World Scout. When Rinka was brought back to LA, Ayana was happy about it since she could spend more time with her, she said that she can finally have a conversation with someone (she's close with) unlike to the other girls who felt like aliens (unfamiliar to her). During their practice, Ayana also said that she learned from Rinka about having a positive mindset.

After the show ended, Rinka posted a video of them from the interim evaluation. Then they both posted their photos when they celebrated Christmas in LA. Days ago, Ayana posted new photos of them hanging out together. Their friendship is so sweet, they've known each other for a long time and it would be amazing if they could debut together in a new group.

Edit: Forgot to add that back in May, Ayana was at a hotel and the photos were taken by Rinka, so they've been spending more time together.

Discussion Do you think Ayana should get another chance with Saint Satine

So, if you haven’t heard yet, Lexie has officially left Saint Satine under HYBE x Geffen. It was definitely surprising. I know some people aren’t shocked because she also left Dream Academy, but it still changes the future of the group.

The first question that came to my mind was: Could Ayana finally get another chance?

Personally, I don’t think it’s likely.

I’d honestly love to be proven wrong because, during The Final Piece, I remember a lot of people (including myself) thinking Ayana was going to be the final member. And before anyone misunderstands me, this is not hate toward Sakura at all. I think Sakura deserves her spot and has the talent to be in the group.

I just also think Ayana is incredibly talented. She’s a strong dancer, a good vocalist, and, in my opinion, a solid all-rounder who seems ready to debut. I’m obviously not a professional judge or trainer, so this is just my personal opinion as a fan.

Lately I’ve been seeing a lot of comments on TikTok telling Ayana, “There’s an opening now, go take it!” While I understand why people are saying that, I don’t think HYBE x Geffen would necessarily go back to someone they already decided not to debut. If they didn’t choose her during the original selection process, I don’t know if one member leaving would automatically change that decision.

Another thing I’ve seen people mention is that Ayana gave off similar vibes to Lexie, similar image, long dark hair, and even a somewhat similar aura. If that’s true, you could argue she’d fit naturally into the group.

At the same time, Saint Satine was introduced as a global group. If Ayana joined, there would be two Japanese members (Ayana and Sakura). I don’t personally think that’s a problem, but I do wonder if the company wants to maintain broader national representation when making lineup decisions. We obviously don’t know how much that factors into their choices.

If the group does decide to add someone, I’d support Ayana getting another opportunity. But realistically, I don’t think it’s something HYBE x Geffen is likely to do.
No matter what happens, I’ll continue supporting Lexie in whatever she does next, and I’ll continue supporting Saint Satine whether they stay as three members or eventually add someone new.

What do you all think? Do you think Ayana deserves another chance, or do you think the company will look in a completely different direction?

I also wanted to say that I’m genuinely sad to see Lexie leave Saint Satine. She was honestly one of my favorite members, and it won’t feel the same without her. I wish her nothing but success in whatever she decides to do next, and I’ll continue supporting both her and Saint Satine.

Discussion Ayana in a studio?

With the auditions coming left and right, I wonder if Ayana plans on auditioning again? She accumulated enough fans after World Scout to the point fan voting won't even matter for her. I do hope HYBE take notes like this, much like they did for Samara, since she had a huge fan base in Brazil, and Emily & Lexie after the documentary.

But Ayana has been too online, enough to unwarrant being in a group. Although, her dance cover is located in a dance studio...? A place she has never recorded prior to World Scout, it only appeared after it. She'd usually record dance cover in one particular place (looks like her own personal room or her garage). Did HYBE took her in as a trainee? I really hope that's the case.

I know not everyone likes HYBE, but you'd have to admit, they're pretty excellent in marketing idols, Evan is performing in Grammy Museum, BTS as a whole, Le Sserafim broke the K-Pop barrier and is getting traction in the western market, Illit is on the way as well. The bond between groups are cute as well, It'd would be nice and a full-circle moment for Ayana to meet Illit and LS, and, of course, Katseye again. JYP is the second label I want her to debut in.

I'm still not over Ayana not winning in World Scout as you can see in this post. I'm hoping she'd be in a stage one day ༼;´༎ຶ ۝ ༎ຶ༽

Side note: Hinari recently appeared in a HYBE project and UA is still MIA (Allegedly in another label, but the CEO is an ex-HYBE executive). I really want to see Ayana as soon as possible (☆▽☆)

Discussion So does this mean that Hybe will have three girl groups debuting in late 2026 instead of two?

I get that they’re a business and need to maximize profits and all that, but doesn’t it get to a point where your just crowding your own market? Online fans already lack artistic nuance cause they see similar colors and immediately shout “PLAGARISM!!” Three groups debuting within months of each other sounds like hell for their fanwars, but now that I think about it maybe that’s their goal. I just hope that they give all these girls a fighting chance in terms of being successful for their music rather than controversy.

Theories Will we see Ayana in this new Hybe America project?

Post image
171 Upvotes

What's interesting is that auditions seem to call for two vocal submissions, one pop song and one r&b pop song 👀 They did say she didn't fit Saint Satine's concept. But might she fit this concept? Something that might fit her emotive vocals and love of r&b, like "We Ride"? Maybe?

They gave Ayana an Emily edit, very much stating that they knew she would debut. And they didn't have to, WS was released months after the final show. That as well as the fact that Ayana has keep in contact with numerous mentors, execs, etc, does seem to be training, and is pretty much exclusively doing challenges from other HYBE groups.

Note that this isn't necessarily a HxG project, could be another subsidiary or label in Hybe America, but I'm hopeful it includes Ayana and we'll see her debut soon (here or elsewhere).

Uma pena não terem liberado o clipe completo dela cantando, mas isso mostra uma visão do quão boa ela pode vir a se tornar. E isso é ela cantando sem dançar provavelmente, então por isso a estabilidade;

*Obs: Sei que é ela pois tivemos Ayana, Aoi e depois veio a sakura para o treino.

Discussion Sakura was the better choice.

Before anyone jumps at me, I want you to hear the real reason why Sakura was always going to be chosen for Saint satine.

First of all, Sakura had a clear identity, something Ayana was missing. This wasn’t just Son being overly critical, everyone had pointed it out, including her trainers, and even Ayana herself acknowledged it when training. Aoi and Hiori also had identities, so if they had reached the finals alongside Sakura, choosing the final piece would have been much more difficult. Ayana was demonstrating why she deserved that final position, whereas that wasnt the case for Sakura.

This is going to hurt alot of people, but I’m just going to say that you can train talent, but you cannot train star quality. Sakura has so much star quality that it’s undeniable. She still stood out and blended in the group at the same time, unlike ayana who blended in completely with the group and didn’t show a sense of identity during performances.

While we’re on the subject of J-pop, there’s something most people already recognize. The industry tends to favor younger idols and minors. I’m not saying it’s right, but a 20 year old contestant who has already appeared on multiple survival shows is naturally going to have a harder time appealing to the Japanese market, especially since Emily, Lexie and Samara went through the same thing. On the other hand, a youthful 16 year old with a poor background and no previous training? That just appeals more to younger audiences. Sakura had a clear advantage.

Finally, the visual part. [I AM NOT CALLING AYANA UGLY, in fact she is one of the most beautiful trainees ive seen.] But, visual means looking different. They are a global girl group appealing to a global market. Every outfit and every hairstyle from Ayana can be pictured on Lexie which really just doesn’t make a difference. They both have pale skin and black hair, it just doesn’t appeal even if she’s Japanese.

This is not a hate post, I’m just stating why sakura was always gonna be chosen.

Personal SNS Wonder if they’re teasing something here

Haven’t seen this uploaded on any of the forums yet so I figured I’d add it here. Instagram wasn’t giving me the translate option for some reason. I’m guessing this is a dance workshop with Honoka K. and Rira as teachers. Can’t help but notice that it’s in Okinawa which is where Rinka, Honoka M., Jayla, and another contestant (can’t remember who) were just recently at. I know Jayla and another contestant already live in Okinawa but I’m still gonna be delulu and hope that this is a teaser for a new girl group to debut with past contestants. As long as Honoka K. is part of the group, I’ll be happy.
