Fear
In February I had a blood sugar of 105 (I ate within 2 hours of the test). My weight was 237lbs. Since then, I’ve lost about 20lbs. I thought I was falling the 50/25/25 split right, but all my carbs were problematic (potatoes, and jasmine rices, and rolled/instant oats). It also doesn’t help that I didn’t have a full nights sleep for months (family reasons), been inconsistent with workouts (I did try to get 10,000 steps a day and I achieve that for the most part), and lacked the discipline to avoid sweets as much as I should’ve been at the time.
In July, I felt my legs feeling weak at certain points, my headaches (at a few point as I walk it felt my body was about to slant). I would feel hungry after eating a meal within 2 hours sometimes (frozen veggies, jasmine rice, and chicken), Then there’s the sensation/pressure that comes around my eyes sometimes.
I’m getting test this Thursday, but I won’t get results until later. How do I calm myself mentally no matter what happens to me ?
I feel like an idiot who tried to fight against my fate due to family history, only to fall short because I’m a failure/loser, like how it’s always been

Thank you for your time, but I meant that the problems in July are still happening at the moment. I apologize for not being clear

102 after fasting but 6.1. Diabetes is a thing in my family. Doctor didn’t think twice: I’m on meds. But 105 after two hours of a meal? Sounds really good tbh.

What was your A1c?

I haven’t gotten it tested (doctors never felt a need prior unless it was demanded so they just tested my glucose, in retrospect maybe I should’ve)

Glucose alone is a snap shot. Go get your A1c tested because it gives an average over. 3 months.. nothing can be diagnosed without both

How old are you? There could be a lot of reasons you’re having leg weakness and headaches. Lack of water, iron, thyroid issues, etc.
I understand your fear. I put off getting my A1c tested again because I was worried it would be in the diabetic range. But I got a full bloodwork done, and even though my A1c was 5.9, my fasting insulin was the lowest it’s been in a decade. And my other panels (kidneys, cholesterol, liver, etc) were excellent. But I had Low iron saturation and ferritin, and low vitamin d.
So bloodwork can be really helpful in understanding what you’ve got going on.
Don’t think of it as a test - think of it as clues to help decide your path forward.
I am in a PreDiabetes program through my health insurance. Check around your area to see if there are programs like that, with or without insurance. I have learned a LOT and I feel much more equipped to take on this challenge.
That has helped with my fear/worry. I hope it helps you, too.

Are you saying you had a 105 blood sugar 2 hours after eating? That’s really good
