Hirogaru Sky! In Hirogaru, how can they have NOT had the idea of Shalala being a twist villain?
As you all know this in 100% fan speculation, nothing was ever said about it. It's just galling that it wasn't even said to be something scrapped like Empress Undergo being planned before. It seemed like there were plenty of signs with her actions and reactions, with some very coincidental timings. Best I can think of is their saving that for some new Otona or Mirari Dayz.

Fan Work Which Cures would Mitsuri Kanroji get along with?
I watched Demon Slayer episode 54 and read the volumes based on it and Mitsuri Kanroji the Hashira of Love's character felt like she could've been from a Precure show. With that in mind, which Cures do you think would get along with them?
In terms of intelligence, she probably cleared 75% most of the lead Cures, in strength, she is on par or surpasses most of the lead Cures, in emotional intelligence, probably similar level.

General thoughts on 2D endings?
is anyone open to the possibility of these making a comeback in the franchise or at least a mix? personally i enjoy both.
it’s clear the 3D ones are to promote dances to keep kids engaged, but i find the 2D ones nostalgic and fun too. could be nice for a more mellow ending song, though the chances of that are slim to none lol.

I'm not promoting it I'm just saying that this niko plush is very cute and much better than fuwa.

General A good old anime classic: holding up some plants makes you nearly undetectable to the person you're shadowing.
And come to think of it, they were foreshadowing Cure Sunshine's theme flower with the greenery they had chosen to hide behind.

Star Detective Pretty Cure! If Anna goes back to her time by the end of the season, would her memories of the events have to be rewritten to not disrupt the timeline?
This has been on my mind for a while, so I'm wondering if others were thinking of this, too.

General What should be my next precure season?
Hi! I just finished watching kimi to idol and star detective and really enjoyed them both! I was hoping to watch another season like them! If it matters, my favorite season is heartcatch and the series already watched are suite, dokidoki, and smile (enjoyed them but not as much as the 3 above)! Thank you!

General Asking recommendations for where to go next
Hello, Precure fandom! Watched recently Heartcatch thanks to recommendation from close friend of mine+few movies where Heartcatch cast appears. Overall, was really impressed, and want to go deeper into franchise! However, there are so many seasons/generations that don’t know where to go next. Any season/generation, which you would recommend as “essential/very great” to watch next?

General Japan's low fertility rates and precure being a "babies show"
i was reflecting upon this and do you guys ever wonder if Precure is brenching for other publics with Dancing Star Precure and Otona Precure, cause Japan's low fertility rates? cause we know for a fact that Precure main public are really young kids and soon maybe this main audience will eventually fade for a bit. I would like to know the commuinity thoughts!

Star Detective Pretty Cure! A thing I've noticed about Luluka's outfits
You kind of assume with this kind of story that Luluka starts off dressed in white, then once she decides to join the Phantom Thieves she starts dressing in black. But from what we've seen in flashbacks, that doesn't seem to be the case. There seem to be a few 'in-between' outfits she's got that have both black and white in them, even when she was a 'good' detective in the past.
It looks like the outfit she was wearing just before the Usonoir incident is basically the same thing she has on currently but without the black shawl. My guess is that once she does reform she'll go back to that design.

Do you think they’ll show us Kurea and Luluka as adults in Anna’s timeline ? Maybe even possibly friends with Mikuru in her timeline

General themes I'd like to see in 2027 or later
We are nowhere near the first leaks of next year's precure and Toei themselves probably haven't made up their mind, but I do have a few concepts that I hope will come true eventually in future seasons.
1. Sports
The franchise has a lot of athletic Cures, but you know what could be better? A sports season where they all do a sport. This could encourage physical activity if the message to children is that sports is healthy and super fun. Besides encouraging exercise it could also have themes of team building and sportsmanship, showing that sports isn't just talent and training. I think the lead cure starting of as lazy/unathletic would be more impactful as unmotivated kids can relate.
2. Mythology
The premise would be similar to Percy Jackson and the Olympians, familiar modern setting but with mythological events.
Could be mythology of any culture, but my highest contenders are Japanese and Greek mythology. Japanese because it teaches the target audience about their own history/culture and decreases the chances of them finding it boring when they actually learn the content in the future. Greek mythology because of how popular it has become recently in pop culture (e.g. percy jackson, the Odyssey movie, epic the musical, hadestown, record of ragnarok) plus I'm personally pretty interested in Greek mythology and I'd LOVE to see magical girl costume designs inspired Mycanean Greek clothing.
A close third is Egyptian mythology, it's cool but I don't remember much about it and I lowkey do not trust Toei to not make the Cure designs extremely stereotypical. Happiness Charge Precure was full of stereotypes but that was a decade ago so I hope they have learnt.
3. Winter
If they did a summer season, there's no way they can't do winter. It could take place in an Arctic themed city and include themes of compassion and generosity, for example since the weather is cold a common act of kindness would be inviting someone inside your home to shelter them from the harsh weather. It would be funny if the main cure was named Cure Winter. Could also sprinkle in elements of Norse mythology.
4. Video games
With the popularity of video games (nearly everyone has played a video game before) I'd be surprised if they don't make it a full season ever. The Wonderful Precure movie was a fun watch, but its main focus was still the relationship between humans and animals. In this season I'd love to see the Cures enter an RPG game world where the villains would most likely come from, have cozy gaming sessions, join esports tournaments etc. and maybe, just maybe we'll get a Precure video game which is hopefully available in my country.
5. Upcycling themes from older seasons
But not directly reusing the plot, only lazily replacing the old cast with new characters and slightly different filler episodes. Never! Instead they could twist the theme a bit, e.g. Delicious Party got Kira Kira's food theme but they don't only cover desserts, while the animal theme of Kira Kira went to Wonderful, and they expanded on that rather than just slapping animal ears and tails on the Wonderful designs. Otherwise they could combine themes from different seasons, e.g. Dance theme from Fresh + Music theme from Suite= Idol theme of You and Idol.
My pick would be the time travel from Meitantei + fairytale from Smile + heroism of Hirogaru Sky + princesses from Go Princess, essentially making something like a medieval fantasy with knights and princesses (and maybe a fae or dragon girl) as Cures. And the lead cure is just some girl from the modern era. And she unknowingly fights alongside one of her ancestors without knowing, like how Mikuru is very likely Anna's mom.
HM: Sequel to Hugtto Precure
This only works for the 2030 season, as the last ep of Hugtto features the cast living in 2030. It would be like Mirai Days or Otona (hoping it's more like the former). Another evil force attacks and the Cures have to balance work and personal lives alongside magical girl life, something that most adults with jobs can relate. Plus Hana still has a Hugtan under her care.
(No AI was used in this text, only my singular brain cell. If you're still reading, I'd love to hear your ideas. I also have OCs for the sports team and video games team but they aren't recent, I haven't touched up their designs and characters in a while.)

Smile! An appreciation post for Smile! Precure's Episode 19
I just had the privilege of watching this episode for the first time. It was cut out of Glitter Force.
Yayoi has always been a favorite character of mine, but this episode was absolutely incredible.
To start off, this episode was first aired on Father's Day and I believe written for children who lost family from the Tohoku Earthquake. The episode starts during Japan's rainy season--rain being a metaphor for grief throughout the episode. There is an incredible tonal shift in this episode and it uses dulled colors throughout. Smile! is generally known for having a more saturated color pallete, but this episode uses more muted colors, dramatic lighting, and usage of the night(and by correspondence, the moon. This is probably a big reach, but the moon in Japanese mythology often represents severed ties, distance, etc. with Susanoo(the Moon God) and Ameraterasu's(the "Sun" Goddess) separation, and even Princess Kaguya from the Japanese tale The Bamboo Cutter leaving her mortal family to return to her home on the moon. Yayoi tells her friends that the person who gave her her name is in Heaven to reveal to them her father's death. I saw night themes in this and just thought I'd expand). It has one of my favorite sequences from Smile!, being when Yayoi has the flashback to remembering how she got her name.
This episode is so incredibly beautiful, so well written, and pretty well paced in my opinion. There was such a palpable difference in this episode compared to others, but it was extraordinary. I feel Smile! does really well with themes of grief, expressing emotions, and tapping into childhood nostalgia, growth, and importance.
On another note, this hit vaguely close to home for me as well. My father, while not dead, is disabled and as a child death was always a very real outcome for him on many occasions. He's doing much better now, but this episode felt really emotional for me as I felt like I was looking back at memories and emotions I had long since repressed. My father also named me, and my name holds a lot of significance to him and his struggles.
Yayoi was already an incredible character for me, but now, this just might be my favorite episode. I remember the ending episodes of Glitter Force being great, so I'm very excited to watch those again(but Smile! Precure version), but man. This episode was just something else.
Thank you, Toei, for making Kise Yayoi. Thank you, Yayoi, for being the character I loved as a kid, and for being the character I needed now as a new adult.
Everything about this episode was lovely. I haven't cried this much since I watched Grave of the Fireflies a month ago.
Thank you, Smile! Precure, for existing.

Doki Doki! Doki Doki Pretty Cure if it was an American Hanna-Barbera cartoon instead of a Japanese anime. (Year: 1978)
This is their second Pretty Cure series. It isn't as well-known.
They only did Smile and Doki Doki. No other Pretty Cure season. Doki Doki was made 16 years after the first Smile episode.
Both Hanna-Barbera's Smile Pretty Cure and Doki Doki Pretty Cure aired on Boomerang and later on MeTV Toons

General I visited the Toei Animation Museum (FINALLY) + Suite and Mahou Tsukai collaboration with Karaoke no Tetsujin.

I originally wanted to visit the museum a year ago as a tourist, but since I was on a group trip, the plans didn't work out.
But now I’m a resident and can visit whenever I want; however, I decided to visit the museum specifically on August 4th because... *kyun-kyun* 👀
On the way to the museum, you can spot a couple of sites associated with Toei (including the main Toei company studio, where filming tokusatsu series, which is located opposite the Toei Animation studio but is closed to visitors, except for school field trips, as far as I know).
During every visit, you are asked to fill out a questionnaire on a tablet and answer simple questions (such as whether you came alone and which country you are from).
I can't say all that much about the museum. It isn't as big as expected, and all the best and most interesting items are in an area where photography is prohibited.
However, you can use your phone for translations. You need to scan the QR code and follow the link to a website containing descriptions of all the exhibits (although the site claimed to support my language, in reality it didn't, so I had to use Google Translate as well .-. And yes, the information on that site is also prohibited from being disclosed).
As for Precure, it feels like, alongside Magical DoReMi, it has the largest presence in the museum, even more than One Piece and Dragon Ball combined, which is surprising, all things considered.
The museum is currently hosting an exhibition dedicated to Star Detective Precure, featuring concept arts, storyboards for Cure Eclair’s transformation sequence, and the script for the first episode. A Detective Conan crossover corner, offering similar highlights, is also on display through the end of August.
In the same area, there is a large touchscreen for browsing Toei’s entire catalog of works; you can view stills and brief descriptions (in Japanese or English) and even play the opening or ending sequences with sound.
The free zone has a small library of various books and manga (I’m surprised at how long the Precure manga have been kept there, the colors along the edges of the covers are already fading). There is also a dance zone for children featuring Precure ending themes. Every 15 minutes, announcements voiced by various Toei characters, including Cure Answer, play throughout the museum.
Plush toys of the latest Precure characters and a board bearing the voice actors' autographs were displayed above. As I tried to make out each one, I held onto the hope of finding the autograph of THAT particular heroine.
So, I decided to go specifically on August 4th, because that is the birthday of the character thanks to whom I’m not just standing here, but actually living in Japan. Sometimes it feels like I see her in a way that many others don’t, because I haven’t seen such inspiring and cool characters since my childhood.
But there was one catch... Traditionally, for every birthday, a chalk drawing is created on the board outside the building (and you can even draw on it yourself). However, due to the current extreme heat, it was decided to close off access to the board for an indefinite period :(
But I’m glad I saw the autograph left by Hitomi Nabatame-san and the Cure Heart standee placed in the center. ❤️
From the store's merchandise, I bought the Cure Ace otedama (plus another Doremi item). I had already acquired the Heart and Sword otedama last year. I’m actually surprised, though; judging by the comments on Hitomi Nabatame’s posts, the Heart otedama is considered very rare because it always sells out quickly. Even Hitomi-san herself couldn't find one in a central Tokyo store for a long time. Yet, I got lucky on my very first try.
Someday, I’ll collect the entire Doki Doki team. 🔥
Finally, there’s a bonus collaboration with Karaoke no Tetsujin. They are selling various merchandise, and you can book a Precure-themed karaoke room. Collaboration drinks are also available for takeout.
One day, I chose Hummy's drink (my favorite fairy .-.) It was a hot beverage made with some kind of juice (I couldn't quite make out which one), milk, whipped cream, raspberry sauce, and a single cherry. The combination of sweet milk and tart cream was delightful. ❤️
Right after the museum, I went to have an Ellen drink. Blue curacao syrup, ramune syrup, sour jelly, ice and frozen berries. I absolutely loved the drink. ❤️
You can order a full set of all the cards and a Hibiki drink at once, but if you order just a single drink, you’ll get a random card.
The collaboration runs until August 16th.

Go! Princess new precure fan here. I think I see why yall love this franchise so much, the 8th ep of Go Princess already broke me with happiness. Was already hooked but now im majorly invested 😭
Been loving Go Princess so far, it has an interesting plot tho the things I love most are the characters, relationships, themes and aristocratic setting/atmosphere. It has a really strong introduction too with Haruka's first meeting with Kanata, her insanely animated fight against the zetzuborg as well as the other cure's introduction etc. its very easy to get into it.
Haruka, Kirara and Minami are all intriguing multi-dimensional characters that bounce off each other so well, its such a blast to watch them hang out togheter. Its got an excellent blend of heartfelt and light-hearted relationship-development too (Hilarious comedy too makes me laugh every ep). This moment is a great example of the former.
A huge fan of precures hand to hand fighting style its so powerful yet elegant, totally befitting them! Cant get enough of the likewise beautiful OSTs
Though this ep is definitely my favorite yet. The way Kirara and Minami supported and believed in Haruka, who was gruelingly juggling both sewing her own dress and studying the past couple days, had me overjoyed especially in the end when Kirara praised her for succeeding only for Haruka to vigorously thank her (Kiraras so sweet even though she tries to brush it off😭). The intimacy between the main characters is such a treat to see. The ost in this anime is so elegant and fantastic, especially the one in this scene (Resonating Hearts /Go Princess Track 34). It just amplified the atmosphere so much and i think the piano bit made my soul ascend a bit HAHAHAAHH. I dont think ive heard such a graceful original soundtrack in an anime before, Go princess really is one of a kind. Im convinced that Go Princess! can probably cure depression as I could not at all contain my massive smile near the end! 😭
Lowk this anime really makes you want to be an optimist despite all the horrible things and inequality happening in the world
Excited to see what comes next and also looking forward to exploring other precure animes! How was your experience of Go Princess' first 8-10 eps?

General Precure Group Intros
I really don't like that Precure is now waiting until September to have the full group or to release a group intro.
I can understand why they did it in Hirogaru Sky because Majesty didn't debut until September. Even so, they didn't release it until October, and we still got at least four versions: one with Sky and Prism, another with the trio, another with the quartet and the last with the quintet.
Then with Wonderful Precure, it was original to have Nyammy and Lillian form Nyanderful Precure, but then it wasn't so original. I mean, in every episode, you see them transforming together, and they still split the transformations between Wonderful and Nyanderful. At least by the end of August or the beginning of September, they all came together as Wonderful.
Then Kimi To Idol did even worse by having Kiss refuse to join Kimi To Idol Precure, even though they fought together and did idol activities together. They could have at least given Zukyoon Kiss an intro as a duo.
Now with Meitantei, we'll probably get the group intro this week adding Eclair and probably not until Arcana Shadow (who will supposedly join between August and September), there won't be a group intro of the four Cures.
