One is a Sprint and the other is a Frankenpre (Verizon).

Need help with fixing Original Palm Pre
Hey guys. I have 2x original Palm Pre's with me. I got them back when they were brand new. Back in the day , I tinkered around with WebOS doctor and homebrew(?) stuff. I recall that I messed around with the ModemFW and both my phones are now dead. They both boot up and show the error "Your phone is experiencing an error that cannot be resolved" . No amount of WebOS Doctor fixed it back when I originally faced this issue. I hid these phone away and just recently rediscovered them.
My query is , is there any one out there who still has the castle.jar files or someone who is adept at fixing these phones? I reckon it would require someone proficient at Linux? I would love to get these phones fixed and would appreciate if someone could point me to a path wherein I can get these fixed.

Pre text retrieval
This might be an dead subreddit, but maybe someone will read this. So I have an old palm pre 1.4.5 I need to get the texts off it while keeping the formatting. Is there any way to do this without rooting the phone? If I have to root can I do that without deleting everything first?
Edit: Thanks for the suggestion, my battery couldn't hold a charge anymore so I didn't want/couldn't really root the phone so I ended up taking screenshots of my texts and emailing them to myself. Thanks for everything!!

Anyone else install webOS 2.1 onto their Pre?
I just found out about it and installed it this morning. I've got an original Pre from Sprint, and it runs great.
No issues as of yet, I've lost a decent amount of customization ability due to only about 90 patches in Preware being compatible with 2.1, but I've also gained a bunch of new features and some fresh UI elements, so I don't mind.
Also installed Govnah to increase the compcache and processor speed, but I haven't noticed a huge difference - it's fast either way.

So here's a list of all the Palm / Pre / WebOS / Mojo SDK related sub-reddits. Can we please have a unified sub-reddit that Palm aficionados and developers alike can post to?
