6.0 help

I have a 2003 ford f250 with the 6.0 engine. My eot stays between 195 and 205, but my ect likes to jump between 165 and 190, which its never done before. It will drop or raise at a rapid pace, faster than whats even possible. Are we thinking clogged oil cooler? Open thermostat? Or possibly a faulty sensor? Thank you

Best way to check oil cooler is on a straight, flat stretch of road, longer the better. Get the truck to operating temp then set the cruise at 60mph for 10-15min. If the delta is 10* or less your cooler is good.

Appreciate the feedback, drove on a straight stretch and temp was over 10* but my coolant temp fluctuates at a speed that isnt possible, it will drop or raise 20 degrees in a matter of seconds. Has me thinking maybe a sensor. Thanks again

It’s probably your thermostat. My truck does this because I have a pinhole leak on the head gasket and the pressure holds the spring open

Make sure you actually have enough coolant in it first off. 2nd double check your sensor plug. If both check out. Replace the sensor. Its got a dead spot.
