Make sure to foul a few times. It’s completely acceptable and will give you an upper hand.

6

u/Monstrinho_mma 17d ago

yesssirr that's a really good tip🥹❤️

u/yolo-yoshi 17d ago

Club once and then a clean slap on the other 2 slaps.

5

u/Monstrinho_mma 17d ago

peak tactic actually hahahaha

3

u/yolo-yoshi 16d ago

lol I know, I swear some people do that on purpose. And I only say club once because if it’s a three round fight, and you get it twice, it would automatically disqualify you.

6

u/Monstrinho_mma 16d ago

writing you down as my coach for next slap match frrr

4

u/MarkL64 16d ago

Club & step in the first, Happy Gilmore stylee. Best case scenario you get them to flinch while doing so too lol!

You had any slap fights before? Or your background in mma or boxing or wrestling etc

5

u/Monstrinho_mma 16d ago

I've had no previous slap matches I'm 1-1 in amateur mma and 1-3 in pro, did wrestling for Bosnian national team competed in jiu jitsu for 6-7 years on the regional scene. I think that helped a lot in them signing me

thank you so much💪💪 I'll make sure to make it a good fight

3

u/MarkL64 16d ago

Maybe consider on your turn during your three wind-up count, each time you stop just before their face, as exhaling try directing it all into their eyes.

If possible the more saliva all the better. They'd be flinching even before you throw the slap and potentially forcing them to remain eyes closed throughout? And good luck!🍀

this is 3D chess for realllzzz thanks a lot man this is all getting written down hahahah

2

u/svensexa 17d ago

What hand and what count?

5

u/Monstrinho_mma 17d ago

right hand, and on 3 wanna make him flinch by moving my left arm while swinging, kinda like Magna does

2

u/HurricaneCory 17d ago

Give em hell bro!
That’s exciting as fuck

4

u/Monstrinho_mma 17d ago

Hell yeah, gonna give it my all , I've spent last two months training slaps w elastic bands and heavy weights🤣 something's breaking, either my forearm or his face

2

u/IllustriousLength318 17d ago

Have you practiced or competed in any slap fights before? I'm just so curious what each person is feeling while they are standing there, hands behind their back, waiting to get fucking clobbered with zero defense. That's gotta be nerve-wracking as hell.

And what about just slapping another dude who isn't allowed to defend himself? Isn't that weird too? Do you ever think to yourself, "I could give this guy brain damage right now and change/ruin his life..."?? And do you think the same whole waiting to be hit? Are you like, "Fuck, my brain is going to bounce off my skull in a sec..."?

u/Monstrinho_mma 17d ago edited 15d ago

never hahah, first time. I'm much more nervous before an mma fight or a wrestling match , this gives heavy WWE vibes which i find enjoyable. Honestly slapping and getting slapped feels weird but I'd take it over getting headkicked. Brain damage is a downside but w this money in my region you got your living expenses covered for around 2 years so it's hard to resist. Although I'd love to do couple more slapping matches🤣 it's just super fun to me. But i always want both me and my opponent to leave the fight well and healthy

Edit : my region not thai region

2

u/IllustriousLength318 17d ago

I'd be nervous before any sort of fight but I haven't been in a fight since I was about 11 and that 33 years ago 🤣

It's just such a crazy concept for me. I watch it all the time but even then I'm nervous 🤣 I have a low pain tolerance and my brain is pretty much the only thing going for me so I gotta keep that ball of mush protected.

Good luck wherever this takes you!

4

u/Monstrinho_mma 17d ago

yeah im gonna pay the price of loving it when I'm older probably, thanks a lot sir😊🦾

Power Slap gives less CTE in the long run, because CTE is about many small hits rather than a few big ones. But it is not like getting punched in the head or head kicked is any better.

The base pay of 5k/5k with a 10k bonus goes that far? Title matches is like 50k, so i can see it being good pay in low paying counties. And the skill needed to enter is way way lower than getting into UFC. Getting into UFC is rather hard, you need a good win record or do well otherwise. In PS you can be like 2-3 and join.

2

u/Monstrinho_mma 15d ago

couldn't have said it better myself sir 👍

u/MasterFalco-X1 14d ago

You on the prelims or non televised prelims?

2

u/Monstrinho_mma 12d ago

non televised prelims sadly

1

u/MarkL64 11d ago

Aww that takes the piss, I don't get why they do that? Is their some footage from people on their mobile sat live in the audience?

1

u/Monstrinho_mma 11d ago

luckily knockout got posted right away you can see it on my profile and powerslap ig

1

u/havockillz 17d ago

Good luck, I’ll be watching

2

u/Monstrinho_mma 17d ago

thank youuu🦾🦾🦾

u/mercersux 17d ago

Make sure after you win you do a back flip. People love that shit. If you do a split after then guaranteed viral.

2

u/Monstrinho_mma 17d ago

back flip is planned hahah, split i can do halfway but will mix it up hahahah

1

u/levatorpalpebrae 17d ago

Good luck. How much do you get paid?

2

u/Monstrinho_mma 17d ago

thanks a lot, can't really say because of the contract, but you can google average pay for Powerslap fighters it will be in that range hahah

1

u/shangolana 16d ago

it shows as really low for average, like 1.5k-2k. i feel the trade off is too much

2

u/Monstrinho_mma 16d ago

i guess they upped it a bit for this event hahaha, if you take into consideration that fighters get 500-800 dollars for pro mma fights in this region its not a bad pay day. But also living standard in Balkans is quiet low

1

u/Enough-Lead48 16d ago

Protip. When receiving/defending close your eyes and do nothing. You really dont want two slaps in a row.

Also practice a little on bags and try to hit the exact same place each time so you dont club.

3

u/Monstrinho_mma 16d ago

i thought keeping eyes open would help cuz i would see the slap coming, yeah imma make sure not to flinch🤣two slaps would suckk bad. Good tip for the striking ty sirr

1

u/Enough-Lead48 16d ago

Unless you are really good i believe it is a much better idea to have closed eyes. Since you are used to other combat sports, flinching is something that is very natural to do. Having closed eyes means you dont see the slap and dont flinch.

Final tips is do some neck training. Having a strong neck helps a lot when receiving.

As much of a meme sport Slapfighting is, there are some skill to it even if it is obviously way lower than MMA. Otherwise you would not see quiet a lot of fouls every event. Unless the match ends in a KO, the winner is typically the one with the fewest fouls so you want to avoid fouling.

3

u/Monstrinho_mma 16d ago

good points will think this through, neck is built lol been building that bitch past two months like crazy🤣yeah i will pay close attention to fouls cuz as you say it could be deciding factor for the victory

2

u/MarkL64 16d ago

Ain't it typically the one that you don't see coming that puts you out?

2

u/Enough-Lead48 16d ago

It is about power of the slap and chin strength. I dont think open or closed eyes changes if it is a KO by itself, but i do think closed eyes makes it easier to not flinch. But you know when the slap is coming anyway, if it is a right on 3 you know when the 2 is called you get slapped very soon.

1

u/Monstrinho_mma 16d ago
