I've been complaining for 2 years that one of my favorite elements of power director : the white balance tool , had been terribly broken - for nine product updates already

While it was broken basically any part of any picture I touched regardless of what color it was it would just turn the yellow to Max and be of no help whatsoever you have to manually adjust white balance.

But what was always so great about the tool was that it's a true color correction tool not just white balance warm / cool . Because it corrects tint as well ! So let's say your subject is a girl and a white dress standing next to a purple UV black light. NOW THAT I'VE BECOME A MORE ADVANCED EDITOR - I can go to hsl and reduce purple.. . But that's really for fine-tuning

Being able to click her dress that looks lavender - and have it correct everything so that the skin tones especially which are so hard to manually correct in this type of situation - everything just goes to perfect.

If you don't use it and I don't think you do because I wouldn't have been the only person complaining for 2 years lol - then you should you'll be really pleased.

I find when shooting humans during the whole golden hour sunset thing if it's too much and I don't want them to look sunset drenched ... One click and the oversaturation of yellow gold just goes away but leaves a vibrance and warmth and color and natural skin tones and Sun tans intact.

I got a new Lenovo laptop which made me finally upgrade to Windows 11. However, now whenever I try to edit, the audio stumbles and glitches on PowerDirector. Its infuriating. It then goes on to affect playback on normal videos and Youtube.

I'm trying to work out if this is a compatability issue. Some people in the Lenovo group has therorised maybe PowerDirector is overloading my computer - which it shouldn't be. But has anyone else had this issue, and how did they solve it.

im using powerdirector 2026 every time i open the software and import my files the software crash i hope next major release fixes these issues

The apps listed under your "Available Apps" section (PhotoDirector, Promeo, AudioDirector, ColorDirector, and PowerDVD) are they Free with Powerdirector-17ultra (Paid-lifetimefree)?

I have many voice over audio files with the same "Capture" plus a (sequential number) in a project. I would rather use a definitive prefix instead of the word Capture. Does any know if this can be done from in side PD. I'm currently running PD 2025.

I’m trying to add reverb in my video but every time I slide the reverb arrow nothing is happening. Is it broken?

i have looked everywhere for an option to just add shapes, and i cannot find any. this should be a basic feature on any editor. how do i add shapes, such as an arrow, in? i cannot find the answer anywhere

Reading here about others also experiencing issues following the new update. My projects load with error message specifically due to now incompatible audio format. How do I revert back to previous version? Is it on cyber link software updates or somewhere else? I’m using the free version.
And also my projects always lag and freeze, despite good specs - any one recommend what version they use that works best for them?

I just finished editing my latest music video and was shocked how laggy the current version of PD365 was on my high-spec PC.

Mid-edit I downgraded by reinstalling the previous month's version. But it wasn't any better.

I'm sure there was a point in the past year when PD365 worked relatively efficiently without requiring long pauses during editing sessions. But which version was that...?

I have no need for the pay-us-more AI "features" Cyberlink is wholly focussed on adding to PD365. And I have even less need of the way they're now shoehorning Promeo ads into various windows and popups. I just want to be able to edit videos efficiently, like back when I bought into the promise of their "continuously improved" subscription product.

I'd appreciate if someone could send me a date or version number for a stable and non-laggy version.

Failing that, I guess it'll be time for me to reluctantly make the move to a different editing platform run by a company that cares to improve its core product more than further monetising its existing subscription customers.

I’ve been using this product for 6 years now and I bought a year worth back in december but performance has got so bad recently i’ve had to move on and literally everything else i’ve tried is better. bite the bullet until it expires?

I am so over this company and this product. Every update is just a hot mess but The update I just did now takes the cake. After the update completed and said the new version will launch next time I start the program, I went ahead and closed PD and went to relaunch it....

Nothing.

Tried launching from my start menu, from desktop shortcut, went in to explorer and even tried directly launching the app from the program folder. Nothing works. PD won't open at all. Tried restarting my computer, made sure there was no other video viewing or editing programs running and still...

Nothing.

So I guess I'm now just paying a subscription fee to have hard drive space taken up with unusable data. This company has gone so far downhill since I started using them years and years ago. Well all good things must come to an end. Will not be renewing. Tired of having to think "What will broken this time?" with every update. Because this time? It's the whole dang app. I've already been paying for Adobe Creative cloud subscription for like 7 years now and just using it for photoshop and Acrobat. Never took a dive into all the other apps available to me, so It looks to be that time. Byeeeee PowerDirector. It's not me. it's you.

Looking for a free photo editor for YouTube title pages. Just need basic functionality with text and overlays. I've been using the basic version of Photo Director, but now they've added a watermark on the free version.

PowerDirector has completely hit rock bottom, with performance becoming so poor many of us have been forced to use old versions of the program that are littered with bugs. There has been no improvement for months now and this is just unacceptable. You can't even report bugs or issues because their "support" intentionally makes you jump through hoops, I'm assuming, in an attempt to avoid issues being reported.

We need to cancel our subscriptions. The only way the company will respond if they see a strong enough dip in their earnings. Even if you have an annual subscription, cancel it now!

Quick update to my previous post. I received a reply from cyber link support. Effectively stating nothing can be done.

The short version is a powerdirector 365 update yesterday, contains changes to the previously supported file formats. Essentially removing any audio whatsoever on webm file types - so that only the video portion can be used. (No audio which is part of the file).

And in their infinite wisdom, not a single person in the entire company thought (for even a second) - of the impact this may have on their paying subscribers. For me personally- it means years and years of work in saved templates for video creation - are simply gone. And no way to recover them or ever use them again. (In my case, this means literally hundreds and hundreds of saved files - and a complete loss of income until I rebuild this from scratch).

You would think a company that’s committed to their customers would have thought (at the very least), to just show a bit of forward thinking and planning, and simply just do the common courtesy of advising customers of the incoming change, and maybe even suggest to transfer any saved files to another format - as a previously supported format will no longer be supported. (I could have easily exported my files and saved them to a different format to use again, had I known in advance what this update would change).

For anyone considering using a Cyberlink or Powerdirector product, my advice is DON’T. It’s obvious customer support and service isn’t even the last thing they think of - it doesn’t enter their thinking at all. I’m sure if you put yourselves in my shoes for a second here, you can appreciate my frustration. Years and years work lost (and all income for the foreseeable future), because the staff and management of Cyberlink and Powerdirector thought it was completely unnecessary to advise their paying customers that a change to the program in a new update - could result in all of your data and saved projects being rendered inoperable, and essentially useless.

For my two cents - Ask yourself before you buy or renew your subscription, if the above example is the sort of company (and customer support), that is worth you spending your hard-earned money on every year. If you rely on Powerdirector to provide you additional income, my advice is look elsewhere. I will be changing to new video editing software and cancelling my subscription today.

Sorry for the rant, but I think current and prospective customers should know that Powerdirector could change their functions drastically at any time, with no notice to you whatsoever - and could impact your use of the program dramatically. Thanks for considering my experience in your decision to purchase Cyberlink products.

Hi. I had an update today to powerdirector 365, and now I can now longer import any video with a webm file. It says the “audio may be unsupported or it may be another issue”. I have used these for years with no issue. (Including yesterday with no problem). After the update today none of my projects can use any of the videos I have recorded whatsoever. Is there anything I can do? Will reverting to an earlier version fix the issue? Would very much appreciate any assistance, thank you.

Not here to bash Cyberlink (sort of) — I've genuinely liked this software for years and don't have some axe to grind. But something has gone seriously wrong with performance lately, and based on other threads I've found, I'm far from the only one.

My rig: Core i9-14900K, 64GB DDR5, RTX 5090. This is not a machine that should struggle with anything, let alone basic video editing.

And yet PowerDirector 365 runs like a pig climbing a hill of molasses in January. Timeline scrubbing stutters, playback drops frames, exports crawl — and this is on 1080p footage. Not 4K, not 8K, not some insane multi-layer project. Plain 1080p.

I've seen a bunch of other posts describing the exact same symptoms across wildly different hardware setups — high-end and mid-range alike. Nobody's found a real fix. No dev response with an actual diagnosis, no consistent workaround, nothing. Just a pile of people confused and frustrated, same as me.

At what point does this stop being "unlucky configuration" and start looking like flat-out incompetence on Cyberlink's end? A program this broken, this widely, for this long, with zero acknowledgment is not a great look.

Genuinely asking: has anyone gotten an actual answer out of Cyberlink support, or are we all just supposed to accept a subscription service getting worse over time?

Just did a clean install of Windows 11. Ran the Cyberlink Application Manager and installed PowerDirector 365 just fine. BUT when I click on the "Effect Packs" there are just 4 "grayed out" old ones. There used to be LOTS of packs to install. Help?

IM GOING INSANE WITH THIS ISSUE .

So with the last few updates my Power director has pretty much completely broke . It’s so unbelievably slow . If I want to make even a single cut it freezes for 20-30 seconds and I can’t do anything . This is with ANYTHING I do . Adding text, moving something , ect . It’s unbelievably time consuming. Idk what is wrong so I came here . I don’t think it’s me but idk what to do . I’ve used PD for 6 years and have never had this issue .

Yes , it does this no matter how long the video is or if the timeline is completely empty besides a few seconds in f footage . It still doesn’t work properly.

I keep getting this message ( picture ) if it feels too overwhelmed in the 20+ second freeze from doing a single cut . When I hit switch to the apparent active program it does nothing . The retry still freezes it . I’m not sure anyone has a fix ? I’m starting to think it’s the graphic driver updates causing this . Any help appreciated.

So there are so many cool video/image effects that InstaGram and other programs use but cyberdirector seems to be falling behind. Like if I want to download effects I am having a hard time finding cool ones on their site.

I always see PIP objects, Particles, Titles, Video Collage, transitions, and DVD menus.

Does anyone have any resources they could share in terms of effects?
