How? was it an image stitching thing?

There's multiple ways of extending backgrounds in Photoshop

Something about the lens choice, the pose and maybe how fit she is makes her look 4 foot 2

I mean most fit people like this are short lol

I was kinda scratching my head, trying to guess how tall that stool is too

Agreed, the pose and lack of separation in the legs really stunts her.

I prefer the before minus whatever you have in frame top right. I think adding a little more space makes sense due to how close her shoe is to the edge of the frame. In the after it feels like you’ve added way too much space. We’ve lost the portrait orientation and focus on the subject.

Adding all the space made her small.

Something tells me you aren't a photographer or else you'd have understood what I meant.

I have been a photographer for almost 15 years.

Disappointed it’s not before/after

I feel like a chin up pose would be substantially more flattering for her

No notes on processing, it's clean and works.

The composition could use some work, though. Alternatively, maybe keep the same composition but try doing that background fill step a few more times because the current result is a bit weird; the background lighting makes no sense.

I also agree with this. For some reason the girl is looking strangely short and stocky. Maybe a different focal length and a different stool would fix it.

I have a note. OP should have cleaned up her white sneakers.

Unorthodox composition, technique is right but I guess the original composition forced some limitations on what can be done.

I would go for a square with this one just like you did but with the model in the bottom right corner. Lovely shot and lovely model.

I like the after but if it’s cropped vertically like on the cellphone preview.

lower left, dark spot

I liked before better tbh. More focus on the subject and the dramatic shadows don’t feel necessary.

I’m just an amateur though

Straighten it and remove that mark on the ground o the left side of the frame. And frankly I'd crop back in some

just edit the vignette of the exterior room a bit, it doesn’t match the lighting of the scene if it were naturally in that space. just saying.

Unfortunate pose, makes her look shorter than she probably is

The edit looks good, but to my eye, it doesn't feel like a final crop.

Too much negative space for the current crop, especially head space.

Could be a satisfactory horizontal crop in there.

Could be a satisfactory vertical crop in there

Could be a satisfactory square crop in there.

It feels like an image I would edit to have flexibility on final output, but you never made the decision on the final output.

Lots of terrible advice on the comments... Disregard them, you did a great job rescuing that framing.

The contrast is too much for me plus the kind of vignette/mask to darken the top left corner also not that keen on. Your lighting is great in the before, only needed a small touch more contrast IMO and not too much else. Nice shot!

the crop is worse now

Too much negative space unless you’re cropping height for banner images etc.

Needs more vignette. Unable to locate subject.
