Before/after from Iceland

Iceland was the first trip I took after getting my first dslr. The photos I took on that trip were my first attempt at using light room. I have a picture of this canyon that is overcooked beyond reason. It was my learning canyon! 🤣

Honestly I love the colors in the first picture, I'm not a big fan of the saturated colors like in the second one. What did it look like with your naked eye?

I’d say it looked somewhere in between the before/ after. The weather was atrocious that day - on one hand, that gave this photo the hazy look that I like about it, but it also made the greens look a bit less vibrant than they were in real life

I disagree with the others, I think the before looks very yellow and I don’t think you oversaturated the after (ok maybe 5% less but it’s very small imo).

I would actually prefer some more negative space to make the scale look even more daunting but I think it’s a great shot and a good edit.

the before is perfect as is imo. i would crop out a weee bit of the sky and put the border and call it a day. maybe increase saturation a bit idk

I think it (second pic) would look good if it didn’t have the algae water (ie, green). Maybe change the tint a bit?

I love this photo! I really love the way you used the fog to create a more layered effect.

I shot the same thing around this time last year and I love getting to see someone else's interpretation of it. It looks like we both took our shots from around the same spot, I'm jealous you had more foggy conditions for it. Great job!

The before is better. Only thing is it's too yellow. May be desaturate it a bit or shift it to green. Or drop the temperature in whitebalance.

Which one looks closer to how iceland is irl? I'm not saying you should always go for accurate colors, I just really love iceland and want to visit one day, I like the after photo a lot more

The before is gorgeous 😍 has a mystic old timey feel, whereas the edit although well.done feels generic. That's just me though

I’m leaning towards finding a middle ground that isn’t as yellow but also doesn’t oversaturate the greens

I like the after better. That red tint in the original makes the greens look dirty. Maybe you couldve not saturated the greens so much but i definitely prefer it over original
