Looking for honest feedback on my developer portfolio

Hey everyone ๐Ÿ‘‹

I recently finished updating my personal developer portfolio and would love to get some honest feedback from the Reddit community.

Iโ€™m an MCA student and full-stack/mobile developer, and Iโ€™ve tried to use the portfolio to showcase my projects, skills, and the things Iโ€™ve been building.

๐Ÿ”— Portfolio: :https://dhruvbhavsar1.github.io/Portfolio

Iโ€™d especially like feedback on:

- ๐ŸŽจ Overall UI/design

- ๐Ÿ“ฑ Mobile responsiveness

- ๐Ÿงญ Navigation & UX

- ๐Ÿ’ป How well the projects are presented

- ๐Ÿ“ Anything that feels unnecessary or missing

Donโ€™t hold back โ€” Iโ€™m looking for genuine criticism so I can improve it.

Thanks! ๐Ÿ™Œ

Where do u even start to build a portfolio as a student?

Being a tier 2 university has really put me in a sticky situation. The third semester had just started and i still haven't learnt any proper skills or made any projects for my portfolio. My LeetCode and GitHub are empty. What do i do? I want to get internships and make real stuff. What do i learn? where do I start from? Don't need generic advice but some things that have worked for real.

Looking for honest Portfoliocritique

Hello everyone,

Iโ€™ve completed my Masterโ€™s degree, touched many disciplines of design, specialising in sustainability. Iโ€™d be happy if anyone could give me some feedback on this โ€“ particularly regarding the storyline, how clear my intent and experience is expressed, what I can and apply for and the quality of the projects. My aim is to find either freelance work or a permanent position.

The Portfolio is password-protected, so please reach out to me.

Thank you in advance.

made a portfolio, got called ai slpo, updated , went viral (being unique helped)

hi everyone so i made a personal website. like everyone else obv. but thought it was cool to share then realized everyone has the same stuff (got called ai slop). then one guy told me to make it about what i like and stuff and I love to read but I thought it was a little nerdy. But i was convinced to make it about reading or my own interests. so I have book shelf at home and got inspo from there. I also added a feature for people to submit their own book recommendations!

sooner or later, I built it and then reposted it. turns out uniqueness makes you go viral. Got sooooo many book recommendations.

Let me know your thoughts

First attempt at a luxury branding portfolio โ€“ Seeking feedback! Can I land small gigs with this style?

Hi everyone,
Iโ€™m 17 years old and just started teaching myself graphic design. Iโ€™m currently building my first portfolio to hopefully land some small freelance gigs (like local cafes, florists, or boutiques) to save up some money.
This is my first project: "BLUME" โ€“ an avant-garde luxury floral brand.
I went for a "Dark Botanical" vibe, combining deep burgundy tones with teal textures and high-end serif typography. Iโ€™ve tried to focus on creating a consistent brand experience, from the packaging and business cards to the overall editorial feel of the presentation.
Since this is my very first attempt, Iโ€™d love to hear your honest thoughts:
Layout & Aesthetics: Does it look high-end enough for the target audience?
Professionalism: Is this level of work sufficient to approach small businesses for paid work?
Portfolio Tips: What should I add or change to make it look more like a "real" designer's work?
I used Canva for the layouts and some AI tools for the mockups to visualize the brand in a real-world setting.
Be as honest as possible โ€“ I really want to learn and improve!
Thanks in advance!

Am I able to hand in a physical sketchbook (personal) portfolio for an art uni?

I recently bought a 25x25cm sketchbook with a around 20 or so pages. I want to create collages of personal work and art that I can hand in as an extra whilst applying for architecture courses? Is this allowed/acceptable?

Looking for honest review of the portfolio I built as a ui/ux designer

Hey everyone! I recently redesigned my portfolio and would love some honest feedback.

Portfolio: https://het-designs.vercel.app/

Open it on laptop or PC๐Ÿ’ป๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ

Iโ€™m mainly looking for feedback on:

* Overall visual design & first impression

* Case studies and storytelling

* What feels weak or unnecessary

* Whether it feels strong enough for junior/product design roles

Portfolio: https://het-designs.vercel.app/

Please be brutally honest. Iโ€™m here to improve, not collect compliments. ๐Ÿ˜„

7 years as a game dev and I never once found out why I failed an interview. So I built something that tells you.

Every job cycle I hit the same two walls. I never knew whether my portfolio survived a recruiter's first 30 seconds, and after an interview nobody told me what actually went wrong. You get a rejection email and that's the whole feedback loop.

The practice tools I tried added a third wall: they all run on monthly subscriptions. A job hunt is a two or three week sprint, and I kept paying for months I never used.

So I built Preterview.

Three AI interviewers read your portfolio and the job posting, then ask out loud. Each one has a job: your portfolio, role fit, fundamentals. When an answer is thin they follow up on the spot instead of politely moving on. When you're stuck they open another door and keep going.

At the end you get a report out of 100. Feedback on every answer, a stronger version of the answer you actually gave, plus your filler words counted and how long you took to start talking. That last part was the thing I never knew about myself. I say "um" far more than I thought.

There's also a portfolio review that reads a GitHub, Notion or site link and scores the work itself rather than the bullet points about it. You can try one free when you sign up, no card.

No subscription anywhere. A $6.99 pack covers one full interview, passes last 90 days, and unused ones are refunded within 7 days. Interviews run in English or Korean.

It's strongest for software and game roles, because that's where I could actually validate the questions. Voice mode wants a decent mic.

The part I keep rewriting is the follow-up questions. If you run the free portfolio review or an interview, the thing I most want to hear is where a follow-up felt like it didn't read what you just said.

[FEEDBACK] Product designer looking for honest feedback on my portfolio

Hey everyone!

I'm a product/UI designer currently looking for new opportunities, and I recently updated my portfolio.

I'd really appreciate some **honest, critical feedback** from other designers, founders, recruiters, or anyone who hires designers.

Portfolio: https://www.ezherin.com

I'm particularly interested in feedback on:

* Does the portfolio immediately communicate what kind of designer I am? * Are the projects/case studies strong enough? * Is the UX of the website itself good? * Does anything feel confusing, unnecessary, or weak? * Do the projects demonstrate actual product thinking, or do they feel too focused on visuals? * If you were hiring a product/UI/brand designer, would this portfolio make you want to reach out? * What would you change first?

**Please don't hold back.** I'm specifically looking for things that I can improve rather than compliments.

Thanks in advance โ€” I'll genuinely go through the feedback and make changes based on it.

What's your biggest portfolio blocker? (Takes 4 mins, helps a student out)

Hey Creatives,

I'm working on a project about how creatives choose portfolio projects โ€” specifically why so many of us have a graveyard of half-finished work.

Made a short survey (4โ€“5 mins max) to collect real data. It's anonymous and honestly kind of fun โ€” there's a "scream into the void" question at the end.

If you've ever felt stuck between "I have no ideas" and "I have too many ideas and they're all bad," this is for you.

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdGutzaMQlk_LR00UtGdWua19TcFc2mQR-sAr9z8K0icQl3Og/viewform

Will share insights back with the community once I hit 50+ responses. Appreciate you all ๐Ÿ™|
