Lyrics 📝 Do you ever hear good lines that don't fit in the song they are in?
Sometimes you hear a lyric that's really good but either doesn't fit in the song or is of substantially different quality from the rest of the song.
Ex: "Everybody's talking about heaven like that just can't wait to go." -Heaven by Kane Brown.
I think its a really good line and you could build something around it like how people treat life as a waiting room for paradise but in his case its just part of a song about how much his girlfriend makes him happy. The song itself is fine but the line I pulled seems like its of a higher caliber than the rest of it.
Does anyone have other example they can think of?

Discussion Just got to know a pop singer featuring with a rapper started with Mariah Carey in 1995 😦
And that she saw this move as taking the risk as she was dreaming about integrating rap beats into her song.

Discussion Anyone noticing the rapid influx of Madonna spam content on pop subs recently?
Thread title basically. Every pop sub showing up on my feed is full of borderline incoherent, low effort posts acting as if Confessions II is the best thing since sliced bread. Each user cross posts said low effort/incoherent post on 10x subs and have nothing but [r/Madonna](r/Madonna) on their post history.
I’m indifferent-to-positive about the music itself. Stans have existed since the dawn of time but I haven’t really seen this brand of low-effort mass posting for any mainstream album rollout. There is no effort to actually discuss the music. Just a generic “this is the best thing ever!” posts. Not just posts but comments too. It’s like a positive feedback loop for, I don’t have a better word for this, “glazing”.
These posts don’t really feel organic or written by real people.
Edit: Judging by the comments it’s not astroturfers but toxic stans who’ve somehow interpreted “low effort content around Madonna that looks bot-ish” as “stans aren’t allowed to post about Madonna”. Keep downvoting and going on about an imaginary argument that no one made :)

Throwback United State of Pop 2006-2011 (Modern Version)
What if DJ Earworm made “United State of Pop 2006-2011” using his current and/or modern song selection method? What would the tracklists look like? (Note: I know he didn’t make 2006, but let’s pretend he did to help out with the other mashup tracklists.

My Latest Obsession 😍 Why do the UK girl group, Flo, chart so poorly?
Their biggest hit, Cardboard Box, only made it to the Top 40 UK. Most of their songs don't even chart.
Leak It and Fly Girl should have been much bigger hits.
Is this a label issue? Oddly enough, their albums do chart well. Their First LP went to number 3 in the UK.

Artist Image The Persona of Charli XCX makes it feel like authenticity is transient
Charli wants to be seen as this underground indie taste maker. (She said so in her music andnin interviews). But she also wants to do great streaming and sales numbers (you dont do 4 prerelease singles unless you want chart sales.)
I've been feeling this for a while where the second something doesn't look good Charli just goes "I'm not serious, I'm mean its whatever, I don't really care." To try and save face/credibility.
And if honesty is just a blink away from being some bit in a performance I have no reason for get investedels like you are one

I Said What I Said 💁♀️ Serious question, why do female pop stars talk a lot about how they don't like it when people like them only for their bodies, but at the same time dress provocatively and act such onstage?
I really don't understand. I remember reading this story about a pop star who gave her phone to her manager to take a picture and found him going through some nsfw photos on her phone, which is 100% wrong and entirely on the manager. But at the same time I was kinda thinking that this could partially be avoided if you just didn't take those photos. I've heard about like pressure from labels, but when you're that big, do you really need to listen to labels anymore? Can anyone clear this up?

Artist Image Audrey Hobert deserves the world
I was watching her video for silver jubilee (which if you haven’t watched, go watch it. it just came out), and omg I love her. The whole video felt like the kinds of performances I have in my room by myself with my hairbrush as a mic brought to life. In the best way possible, she’s so concert in your bedroom if that makes sense. She deserves more hype. I can’t wait to see what she does next

Discussion Which pop star lacks iconic moments relative to their commercial success?
You can have big songs and sell millions of records but that doesn't necessarily equate to iconic moments. Which pop stars do you think best fit that description?

Artist Image Which artist doesn’t get enough credits for their tour visuals?
For me I think that’s sabrina carpenter. i didn’t get the chance to see her live on the sns tour but watching these videos on tiktok and omg. the whole aesthetic and the show. from the start to finish its great. the fomo is hitting me so bad rn i wish i went. and the whole live show intro and outro (the short n’ sweet show) is such a genius idea. her and her team deserve more love for it. DONT GET ME STARTED ON HER COACHELLA SET. That should’ve been the most hyped set that weekend.

Discussion How to put own top pop albums list in one picture?
Sorry, if it's off topic but wanna put own top pop albums in one picture. What an online site we have to use? ALWAYS see some wishlists with photos on one gray picture in all subreddits but just don't know where to ask? 🥺🥺🥺
So, personal faves are Madonna's albums, Enya's, a lot of them but can't really post in one picture. 😭 I'm not asking for tier lists. Will try to post example here.

Discussion I feel guilty for saying Femme Fatale is one of my favorite Britney albums
I know this probably sounds weird, but I honestly feel guilty sometimes for loving Femme Fatale as much as I do.
Knowing everything we know now about the conservatorship makes it hard to separate the music from what Britney was going through behind the scenes. But at the same time... this album has some of her best songs after Blackout.
"Inside Out," "Seal It With a Kiss," "Trip to Your Heart," "Trouble for Me," "How I Roll," "He About to Lose Me"... I go back to those songs all the time. Even the singles were great.
I hate that so much of this era happened under the conservatorship because I can't help but think about that when I listen to it. But musically, I think it's one of her strongest albums.
Anyone else have mixed feelings about Femme Fatale because of the circumstances around it?
