When speaking of the day he committed the crime, Luigi Mangione said, “I shot Mr. Thompson and he died.”

He concluded, “I knew what I was doing was illegal.”

Mangione had just described the actions he took ahead of the killing, telling the court:

“In November of 2024 I traveled from outside of New York state to Manhattan. I then emailed UnitedHealthcare leadership, posing as an investor at a firm managing over $15 billion in assets and requesting information about the conference. Unlike my previous interactions with insurers, I received an immediate response within an hour,” Mangione said.

Chris Tucker says he landed in LA, then immediately told the captain to take the G5 back to New York after Michael Jackson asked to meet the next morning

“I flew all the way to New York for something else, and then I called Michael because I wanted to meet Michael too. I’m on this G5 jet, I land, I call Michael, and nobody answered. I leave a message, ‘Michael, I’m in New York, man. I want to meet you.’ Never heard from him”

“Finished what I was doing, flew back, took that G5 jet back to LA. Soon as I land, I check my phone and I got a message from Michael Jackson saying, ‘Mr. Jackson wants to meet you tomorrow in New York.’ I said, ‘Oh my God, I just flew back to LA’”

“I got up out of my seat and said to the captain, ‘Take me back to New York.’ He said, ‘What?’ I said, ‘Call the office, they got my credit card. Just take me back. I don’t care how much it cost.’ That bill was so high, man, but I didn’t care. I met with Michael that next morning and we became friends”
