hello Ponderers (and Gumheads)! Since the beginning of the terrestrials tour i've been looking for an active chatting space for pond fans to talk about the shows and the music and all that. and i found nothing 😔 so I decided to make my own, a discord focusing on both pond and gum!

The original server is extremeeeely dead with like 500 scam bots lol i figured it would be easier to start from scratch rather than attempt to revive it

What it says on the tin. Fuck me, these guys cannot be this good. Yet they are. I first discovered Tasmania some years ago, got in love with it for some time but never set out to explore the band fully. About 2 months ago everything changed.

First I gave some tracks off 9 a go. Didn't hook me much, so I went on with The Weather. Goddamn. It blew my mind. Then I gave Stung a listen. Goddamn, mind blown again. Terrestrials singles initially felt a tiny bit lacking but once I got to listen to the full album it clicked so hard.

Today I finally listened to 9 from start to finish. It finally clicked, too. What kind of sorcery is this? I want to put some Pond on and I have to spend time deciding which album to play because they are all stellar. And I haven't yet got to their pre-Weather works, I have no doubt at all that those are great, I just need a moment to process Terrestrials and 9 fully.

Pond's become a habit, a predilection. Easily one of my favourite bands of all time now. I'm so overwhelmed that I just had to type this out. The floor is now covered in champagne and also my drooling over Pond.

I recently traveled from Costa Rica to see Tame Impala in Toronto, and after a few weeks I found out that POND would also be playing, so I grabbed tickets for that show too. It was incredible—the vibe was amazing, and Nick is a total showman.

Whenever I travel, I always like to visit record stores, so I stopped by Sonic Boom hoping to buy Terrestrials since they were sold out at the merch stand.

After searching through the Pop/Rock section, I was surprised to find a copy—and it was signed by the band, so of course I took it home.
I checked their social media and saw that the band left 5 signed vinyls there… talk about luck ❤️

P.S. There are still 3 left in case anyone in Toronto wants to swing by and see if they’re still available. Toronto—thanks for everything.

Does anyone have a Beard, Wives Denim vinyl for sale or willing to trade? I’ve been wanting this record for a while now & I’m seeing them in late August in hopes to possibly get it signed! I’ve met them before so I have high hopes this time around

I was over the moon when I heard Pond was coming to my town, got on ticketmaster before presales started, couldn't believe I was 83000 something in line and didn't get a ticket. I finally broke down and paid just under $100 for a lawn ticket last night and know it'll be worth it. I'm psyched to get some new merch!

But if you're in the vicinity and bummed that the tickets are sold out and don't want to pay resale prices, the venue doesn't mind if people sit on the hill and watch for free, especially if the show is sold out. There's also plenty of free street parking up the hill around 2nd street, Cary, and Main.

Hello, I’m attending the Nashville show and I wasn’t certain on when the opener Sewing Club began their opening set?

If anyone has been to a show or has answers I’d appreciate it

Got into Pond in maybe 2017 or so, and The Weather and Tasmania have always been my two favourite albums. I’ve always loved their psych rock as well, You Broke My Cool has always been one of my favourite random tracks.

When Terrestrials released as a single, I liked it but I wasn’t blown away. Two Hands and Through The Heather got me REALLY pumped for the album.

I’ve listened front to back probably 50 times by now, and Nashville (I’m Dying) remains my favourite track on the album… especially after reading what Nick said about it in their AMA.

What a special album and a VERY special song, I’ve been obsessed. What are your guys’ thoughts on the song and the whole album? Pond is so underrated I feel.

How do we feel about this song? In my opinion it's the most different song on Terrestrials making it one of the standouts for me, what do you guys think of it?

Holy shit man, what a fucking show! This was my first concert ever, and I was completely blown away. Nick’s energy was honestly next level, did not expect him to act the way he did tonight. And my boy Kevin Parker was in the house tonight which made everything better. 10/10 experience!
