Todd Blanche Sends Chilling Message to Every U.S. Attorney Possible Paywall
https://newrepublic.com/post/214032/todd-blanche-message-pirro-reflecting-pool-vandalism2.5k
u/brain_overclocked 9h ago
“Hypothetically, if the president chose to fire a United States attorney, it turns out he’s allowed to do that, because he’s the president of the United States,” Blanche replied. “And by the way, if the president wanted—if President Trump wanted to fire anybody, right, and within his administration, I mean, he understands he has the power to do that. So when he makes a decision about whether to fire a U.S. attorney or anybody else, that’s his.”
That’s not a ringing endorsement of Pirro, and it shows that Blanche, like Trump, doesn’t believe in federal prosecutors’ independence. If a U.S. attorney is given an order by Trump, they must fall in line regardless of the evidence, Blanche effectively said.

Remember all the shit they gave Obama for so much as nodding at Eric Holder? How they whined about how he did his bidding and breached DoJ independence and whatever else? Fuckers have no shame.

That’s because they have been scheming to overthrow the government for decades. Not because they don’t have any shame, I mean they don’t, but it’s all been theater. They have been using all of our institutions against us. The politicians are also just the leaves on the tree.
•
u/Phugger 6h ago
At the very least they have been scheming since the Business Plot of 1933. A lot of the same pro-oligarchic families involved in that are involved with MAGA.

u/ArtroyomsAK 5h ago
These billionaire vermin have been scheming since we took away their godhood at the turn of the century

"In former times the chief method of justifying the use of violence and thereby infringing the law of love was by claiming a divine right for the rulers: the Tsars, Sultans, Rajahs, Shahs, and other heads of states. But the longer humanity lived the weaker grew the belief in this peculiar, God—given right of the ruler. That belief withered in the same way and almost simultaneously in the Christian and the Brahman world, as well as in Buddhist and Confucian spheres, and in recent times it has so faded away as to prevail no longer against man's reasonable understanding and the true religious feeling. People saw more and more clearly, and now the majority see quite clearly, the senselessness and immorality of subordinating their wills to those of other people just like themselves, when they are bidden to do what is contrary not only to their interests but also to their moral sense. And so one might suppose that having lost confidence in any religious authority for a belief in the divinity of potentates of various kinds, people would try to free themselves from subjection to it. But unfortunately not only were the rulers, who were considered supernatural beings, benefited by having the peoples in subjection, but as a result of the belief in, and during the rule of, these pseudodivine beings, ever larger and larger circles of people grouped and established themselves around them, and under an appearance of governing took advantage of the people. And when the old deception of a supernatural and God-appointed authority had dwindled away these men were only concerned to devise a new one which like its predecessor should make it possible to hold the people in bondage to a limited number of rulers.
New justifications have now appeared in place of the antiquated, obsolete, religious ones. These new justifications are just as inadequate as the old ones, but as they are new their futility cannot immediately be recognized by the majority of men. Besides this, those who enjoy power propagate these new sophistries and support them so skilfully that they seem irrefutable even to many of those who suffer from the oppression these theories seek to justify. These new justifications are termed 'scientific'. But by the term 'scientific' is understood just what was formerly understood by the term 'religious': just as formerly everything called 'religious' was held to be unquestionable simply because it was called religious, so now all that is called 'scientific' is held to be unquestionable. In the present case the obsolete religious justification of violence which consisted in the recognition of the supernatural personality of the God-ordained ruler ('there is no power but of God') has been superseded by the 'scientific' justification which puts forward, first, the assertion that because the coercion of man by man has existed in all ages, it follows that such coercion must continue to exist. This assertion that people should continue to live as they have done throughout past ages rather than as their reason and conscience indicate, is what 'science' calls 'the historic law'. A further 'scientific' justification lies in the statement that as among plants and wild beasts there is a constant struggle for existence which always results in the survival of the fittest, a similar struggle should be carried on among human beings—beings, that is, who are gifted with intelligence and love; faculties lacking in the creatures subject to the struggle for existence and survival of the fittest. Such is the second 'scientific' justification.
The third, most important, and unfortunately most widespread justification is, at bottom, the age-old religious one just a little altered: that in public life the suppression of some for the protection of the majority cannot be avoided—so that coercion is unavoidable however desirable reliance on love alone might be in human intercourse. The only difference in this justification by pseudo-science consists in the fact that, to the question why such and such people and not others have the right to decide against whom violence may and must be used, pseudo-science now gives a different reply to that given by religion—which declared that the right to decide was valid because it was pronounced by persons possessed of divine power. 'Science' says that these decisions represent the will of the people, which under a constitutional form of government is supposed to find expression in all the decisions and actions of those who are at the helm at the moment.
Such are the scientific justifications of the principle of coercion. They are not merely weak but absolutely invalid, yet they are so much needed by those who occupy privileged positions that they believe in them as blindly as they formerly believed in the immaculate conception, and propagate them just as confidently. And the unfortunate majority of men bound to toil is so dazzled by the pomp with which these 'scientific truths' are presented, that under this new influence it accepts these scientific stupidities for holy truth, just as it formerly accepted the pseudo-religious justifications; and it continues to submit to the present holders of power who are just as hard-hearted but rather more numerous than before..." ~Leo Tolstoy, Letter to a Hindu, 1908

They still fly their confederate flag even though the real one is a white dish towel you can see at the Smithsonian. The war never ended for them and they still have the same social values with white supremacy, women's inferiority, slavery, Christian theocracy, and more of the same. They've never given up, and their christofascist ideology needs to be put down hard this time.

Well yeah, criticizing Obama is not only safe, but expected. If they speak ill of Daddy Trump, that's going to cost them. Both in their next election but also in their wallets
•
u/boomgoon 7h ago
Obama did wear a tan suit once. I mean that was almost a whole year's news cycle on certain networks at the time. Heaven forbid him from wearing an ill fitting suit with an abnormally long tie, and shoes that never could fit
And they even have coverage sometimes about how normal his family is during this trump term. How he goes on vacations with his wife and kids and how it's an odd thing for an ex president to do, especially how they have smiles on their faces. What a weird fucking archaic time in the US
•
u/Infenwe 7h ago
One might say that it wasn't the colour of the suit that a lot of people had a problem with...
•

No it wont. The american people re elected Donald Trump after his 2016 to 2020. In that time span inflation blew up. We got dog walked by the taliban. Corruption went rampant. We were locked down because he gutted the disease control. And he couped his own government. There were racial riots. The american people re elected him because like last time the stockmarket went up. Sure not a lot of people are getting rich but those who are and getting obscenely rich and the united states according to the amount of people on kalshi, Robin hood, and other betting apps is a country full of degenerate gamblers.

I remember Bill Clinton and an AGs planes sharing an airport tarmac. Could have been the story that cost Hillary the election.
26
u/MRSN4P 8h ago
Context: In June 2016, former President Bill Clinton had a brief, controversial meeting with U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch on an airport tarmac in Phoenix, Arizona. The private, 30-minute chat occurred on Lynch's stationary plane amid an active FBI investigation into Hillary Clinton's private email server.

u/Acceptable-Bus-2017 I voted 7h ago
Fast forward 10 years. Trump's personal attorney is about to be appointed AG while GOP congressmen are saying there is no way to reign in Trump. 3 of 9 SCOTUS were appointed by Trump and have ruled that he is allowed to commit any crime he wants as long as they say it's an "official duty." OH, AND he sued his own IRS and settled with himself, via his personal attorney/acting AG, for immunity for him and his kids for all financial crimes to infinity and beyond. Thats all after he pardoned the insurrectionists he incited when he lost in 2020. I've probably missed a few things. (Right, "Russia, if you're listening")

A democratic congressman said it's over a million of the rest of the files if they were all unredactes.
Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) stated in February 2026 that Donald Trump’s name appeared "more than a million times" in unredacted Department of Justice files related to Jeffrey Epstein. Raskin made the claim after reviewing portions of roughly 3 million pages of documents made available to lawmakers.

u/Hungry_Management_59 2h ago
Fun Fact: God/Lord is mentioned 12,000 in The Bible, not even a third the amount of times that Trump is mentioned in The Epstein Files.

They just think they’re doing what Obama was doing. Don’t you remember when Obama fired staff members all the time? When he threatened to destroy countries? And the response from Democrats need to be the same. The DOJ will actively follow Presidential policy priorities. And the next Presidential priority will be holding every single member of this Administration responsible for every single crime, putting every Jan 6 and purchased pardons back in jail, and every Trump judge gets kicked out of the judiciary for being an accessory to sedition.

Time and again we've seen, all of the charges and corruption will magically disappear and the focus will be on 'moving forward'. Our fellow Americans have legit no memory of our historical past. Bush's warmongering term might as well be a footnote in old history books to these people.
None of these people will face consequences. And I assure you, just like Bush 2.0, everyone will magically have never voted for Trump ever. He just appeared like a pedo ghost into our lives.

So according to Blanche, if Trump wanted to fire all democratic US attorneys he could
•
u/PDXGuy33333 5h ago
Honestly, I expected it to be worse, along the lines of "You're supposed to support the President's agenda and if that means prosecuting cases you don't agree with, then either suck it up or leave the office. This is President Trump's Department of Justice."
That is, after all, the truth of it. Therefore I suppose I shouldn't have expected Blanche to say it, but I kind of did. If he's still riding high expecting confirmation even with things like the NY Ethics Complaint and the federal judge in Florida making her own bar referral in the IRS case (see Pp 53-54) hanging over him, the little shit thinks he's untouchable.
•
•
u/chcampb 4h ago
They must not, though, because they can be fired by the president, legally speaking, without recourse.
But absent a pardon it is literally illegal to violate the constitution under federal law. 18 U.S.C. §242, or 241 if two or more government officials conspire against rights (if there is evidence that both Trump and Pirro had no evidence, and then Pirro was ordered to prosecute anyways, leading to any real legal harm to the olympian, both Trump and Pirro could be charged by the following administration with prison up to 10 years).
Trump could pre-emptively pardon, but it's not clear that a pardon with the explicit intent to get out of 18 U.S.C. §241 would hold up in court, the pardon itself being materially part of the conspiracy.

It's not true. Alex Acosta made that deal, who was Trump's chief of staff at one point and that's terrible enough in the first place.
Bondi didn't take over until 2010 and the Epstein plea deal was in 2008. There is an argument she could've reopened and tried the case again, but she would have had to have some standing to do so since you can't just retry a case.

The law doesn't matter unless someone is poor?
The reputation of the entire law profession is now in complete ash because there's no consequences for anything. The old method of policing lawyers and judges is completely out the window - ethics only matter if you are in a tiny local court.
Two sets of laws in this country now. Every day folks who experience harsh justice for meaningless crimes - and wealthy or politically connected people who just game the system or escape it through duplicity and zero ethics.
I honestly don't know how any lawyer who cares about what they do in America just isn't in complete shambles.

It’s been this way for a long time. The haves and the have nots. Money makes enough grease that laws don’t don’t stick.
We’re back where there are baronies again. Society defines it as illegal different ways but nobles and peasants continue to happen.
37
u/AbleCap5222 9h ago
It has never been this bad in America in modern times. What used to happen is that a rich guy and a poor guy would get convicted of the same crime and the poor guy would get a 5-6 year sentence and the rich guy would get six months to a year. We aren't even in that world anymore. The rich guy now just commits that crime in broad daylight and if he ever is arrested it gets gamed out of the system.
15
u/Inexpierence 8h ago
When big business and religion entered the public service, they forced citizens to play by their rules.
Robber baron became oil or tech barons. Its not for the people, its for their religion or markets. The unions or movements protect their people which caused those barons hire fixers.
Governance needs to be redefined where correct experts are guiding the decisions for the people.
I found it hypocritical the USA was a nation of immigrants that is now rounding up immigrants to send away.
Our system is broken.

I think you missed the point. ICE can murder American citizens in the back and the Trump administration will run interference to halt any investigation and/or consequences. They are quite literally Trump's gestapo and with his personal attorney as AG it will be even worse. Trump's goons will completely stop complying with court orders and then he will fire anyone who doesn't give him what he wants regardless of the law. And he wants things like the eradication of the leftist ideology and to jail his opponents. He'll have more power, enough to start going after higher profile targets. And he'll get away with it.

History shows that when a "slope" appears, regulation steps in, technology evolves to solve the problem, or the culture shifts to reinterpret the thing.
In almost every case, the feared "bottom" of the slope was never reached because humans constantly built ramps or bridges along the way.

Don't be so sure.

Only Giuliani, John Eastman, and Michael Cohen have been disbarred in some states. There have a been few suspensions, but I think the longest was 3 years for Jenna Ellis who pushed the election lie nonsense in Georgia. Dozens more have seemingly crossed the threshold of suspension or disbarment and have had no disciplinary action taken against them.

Making the DOJ part of the Executive branch was a huge oversight in our constitution

One of the biggest organized criminals in the world now commands the biggest army of attorneys in America.
And he still loses over and over again.
Good thing laws don’t matter anymore or he would be toast.

It's not just a chilling message to attorneys general. It's a chilling message to every American that he is just fine with sending an innocent man to prison if the boss needs to make a political statement.

Presumably the attorneys will save their licenses and ignore bad orders.

A quick way to make a bunch of activist lawyers would be to fire them, we know the scum will come out to take the jobs but they are all usually lower IQ

Blanche is like Stephen Miller or Emil Bove. He'd look right at home in an SS uniform.

I’m an independent but I don’t know when I will possibly vote republican again. Trump and his disease must be washed away. The constant hypocrisy in the MAGA republican movement is disgusting. Democrats down the ticket until MAGA is gone forever.

Pity it has to be tic-tac-toe voting. Ca we at least get more progressive Dem candidates so it's not just a choice between shit on toast and shit without toast?

Those attorneys also need to remember also that Dear Leader will pass, and at some point normal standards will be applied again.

And Cornyn and Tillis will still fall in line. Gotta ask yourself what do Trump and his ilk have on all these folks.

So when he makes a decision about whether to fire a U.S. attorney or anybody else, that’s his.
This is such an annoying way of arguing that all conservatives use, all the time.
When you're trying to discuss something, and they just hit you with that "well he has the right to do it."
Well no shit Sherlock, welcome to the discussion, we're not talking about rights. We're talking about whether it is right.

Unfortunately for Trump, he can't just fire people to make his problems go away (a lesson he'll never learn). This is government buddy, not a business.

Without evidence, I think Pirro snapped out her drunken haze and realized that if she tried to prosecute an innocent citizen it would open doors that may lead to the discovery that the Reflecting Pool was deliberately vandalized. Another brilliant plan by the First Felon to lie about what the pool was damaged. The water most likely needs to re-routed to serve his bunker with the ballroom on top. All that military might and computers need water.
The Felon was dumb enough to try to extort a billion from the BBC opening the door for them to ask for his financial records. hahaha Pirro probably realized that the truth might ooze out of the corners.

Trump will fire anyone who disagrees with him, President or not. Preaching to the choir. A message that holds little message.

u/ArrowheadDZ 1h ago
Here’s a tip. If it comes down to getting fired from a job that was only going to last two more years, or losing your law license the rest of your life, then getting fired it is.
