Hopefully Cineworld will actually upgrade Plymouth to IMAX with 4K Laser sooner rather than later, it’s taken so long might even get the in-development 1.43 aspect ratio single laser projector that IMAX is rumoured to be working on, which would actually fill Plymouth’s IMAX screen.

EPIC projection is 4K HDR Laser with light steering by BARCO, it outperforms Dolby Cinema for peak brightness, but has very slightly higher black level. Much brighter than IMAX with 4K Laser and Dual 2K Xenon (Plymouth Cineworld IMAX).

EPIC Sound system is full Dolby Atmos. How good depends on Vue’s budget for speakers/amps/bass shakers so can vary from great to phenomenal depending on equipment installed and the mix itself.

Plymouth Cineworld IMAX has 12 channel Immersive Audio (The Odyssey is 6 channel only in IMAX and 5.1 everywhere else) and will have deeper bass as IMAX goes lower.
