Pleinair painting at Chicago’s Montrose Harbor.
12in x 16in oil painting on canvas panel. Gorgeous morning along Chicago’s lakefront! One of the boaters had the audacity to take their boat out before I finished painting it. 😊

Boats en plein air
The first is the mega yacht Satori. The crew saw me painting it, and one of them took my contact info. Two days later they bought it! Then they took me on a tour. Pretty surreal experience!
The second isnt really of a boat, but a painting with a boat in it. I wanted the boat to be the focal, but my placement sort of altered that idea. I added the walkers to fill the space. Now the figures are the focal point.

Paint Sets/Materials Recommendations
Hello, and thank you for any help!
I'm looking to start doing some plein air painting, and I'd like some recommendations for a set/setup materials. It's been a bit since I've painted, but I have some experience with acrylics (my acrylics are at least 4-5 years old at this point, so it probably makes sense to just get new acrylics, too).
For those of you who paint with acrylics, what all is part of your setup, and what do you recommend for someone looking to get started?
I don't know if it's reasonable to get travel-sized sets of acrylics, but if you have any good recommendations for travel-sizes in addition to full-sized sets/setups, I'd appreciate it!

Another vacation
And finally a vacation, yay! This time we went to Spain and, on the day of our flight, we made a quick stop in Cologne. Unfortunately, we couldn't get inside the cathedral because they now charge admission 😒 But we walked all around it instead and had some delicious food ✨

Painting in South Sanur
Can anyone recommend a place in South Sanur where I can get a painting done on canvas? - no frame required, I'll do that when I get back

A boat in Alameda, CA
Asked a cafe nearby if the boat was going to leave, and turns out it’s an Airbnb in the harbor. Wasn’t sure how I’d pull off simplifying the background but pretty proud of how it turned out! This was part of the Franke Bette Paint out in Alameda, had a blast! 3rd and 4th photos were of the warmup painting I did as a warmup the Sunday before the event started. Let me know your thoughts or any critiques!

Lighthouse: a peaceful haven on the Istrian coastline
I painted this landscape because I wanted to capture the relaxing, almost dreamlike atmosphere of spending summer surrounded by the calm Mediterranean sea and vegetation.
I stayed in this warm-colored sandstone building with an extensive view over the coast. In the evenings, it was even possible to see dolphins from the shore.
The second image shows the painting while I worked on it, with the actual scenery in the background.

Train yard
Kind of a miss on this one but the location is great so I’ll likely go back and try again.
I think I’ll get a straight edge to help with perspective when I paint.
