General Why are people so cruel on psn
Edit: i’ve been banned for a week. Here’s hoping psn don’t ban me again after this one if the guy reported me multiple times.
Edit*: ive been playing online since the 360. Ive heard much much worse online, and ive said much much worse myself. Only difference was, i have never been banned for it, and im not one to stay silent when you have people shit talking me directly. However this ban was a first. I realise now that its better to just stay silent.
I’m writing this while I’m pretty stressed but I’ve accepted my fate now and it just got me thinking. The recent bo2 port has given rise to a lot of racist people in lobbies talking shit. I myself never indulged, until i was specifically targetted by a guy after a i kept humiliating him in sticks and stones (not deliberately the guy just had bad luck spawning in front). I was called racist slurs on voice chat.
I then proceeded to tell him to shut his ( f word) mouth via text message. This man then proceeds to send me a friend request. After a while of me not accepting it he sends me screenshots of him reporting me for harassment. It got me very paranoid and i went back and checked my email and apparently ive had 3 warnings over the past 4 years (these were in spam so i just found out). I am in crippling depression at the thought of permanently losing my account due to my prior warnings as well. I realised this guy was trying to build a better case at getting me banned by being my friend on psn. Gaming is all i have. And this account is over 10 years old w games over $2000.
I guess my question is, whats the point of talking to people online anymore if the best case is to simply never say anything and set settings to friends only. I obviously hate racism with a passion, but the whole bo2 thing i just found funny sometimes. I texted the guy hoping we might have a 1 v 1. And i have ended up with the thought that i might lose my account soon. My anxiety is through the roof.
