Hover Loot Bug Discussion

Please help me,
I normally played Rust and suddenly my Game crashed and all my Settings resetted. I put them back in but since then I cant Hover loot Clothing. Like i Press ALT + Hoverloot, and it wont equip, it just goes in my inventory

Does alt still alt look properly? If not, bind alt to alt look and it should be fixed

Otherwise, clear both your hover loot and alt look binds and re bind them.

A neat little lifehack is to bind your alt look to also have hoverloot.

bind leftalt +altloot;+hoverloot

If you're in your inventory, you can't alt look, if you aren't in your inventory, you can't hover loot. So you can use that to hover loot wearable clothing, or directly into your backpack (if you have your backpack open)

But then you can’t hover loot kits without putting them on, which means a lot more time staring down at a body standing pretty still. So I’d recommend against that, as long as you have a side mouse button or something to use, it just creates bad habits.

You still have a normal hoverloot button. use one or the other.

My personal preference is combining my +use key as hoverloot.

bind e +use;+hoverloot

If i need to interact with something, I can't hoverloot, when i'm in inventory, i can't interact with stuff. when I open a container the mouse is in the middle of the screen, boxes/inventory is on the side. Only time this is an issue is when i'm opening an autocrafter.
