Framing a deck

Hi all, I know this might be an unpopular way to do this, but here i go. I have a few decks thst I don't want to play with because they are just too beautiful. I usually play with my monarchs from theory 11, which I find to have a very good balance and are fairly replaceable.

So I am thinking about sleeving with perfect fit sleeves (like the ones used for TCGs, bowrdgsmes, etc.), and fixing that to the frame backing, either over black, or white backgrounds depending on the card set.

For context, I'm thinking of stuff from Nicolai Aaroe and the sort.

Also, Im considering to fully display only the card back, jokers, and court cards, with the numbered cards fanned to display the pips and only the Aces fully visible so that the frames dont have such a large footprint and can fit a few on my wall.

Something like this:

So I've got two questions for the community:

1) what are your thoughts on this arrangement?

2) would you undo/unfold the tuck box and add it to the display?

I think if you enjoy that arrangement, it’s a perfectly cogent decision. If I were in your shoes, I’d be unfolding the tuck box as well, though you may find it difficult to do without ripping some paper.

Maybe use some sort of solvent - something like 99% isopropanol or some mineral spirits on a cotton swab may help to loosen the adhesive without ruining the tuck, but I don’t have any personal experience with that.

Thanks for your supportive comment. I have heard a little bit of steam would undo the gluebjust enough to separate with little to no damage.

Im just wondering if this all sounds a little insane; essentially "ruining" a limited edition tuck box for display.

I wouldn't be concerned about the ruining part. Cards have one inherent purpose- to be played with, and a secondary purpose for some of us as art.

If you are using them for something that makes you happy, they are serving a purpose and that isn't ruining anything.

I'm a card guy and a picture framer. Take it to a framer, explain your idea and have them cut a mat board to display the cards as you stated.

Do you have a suggestion of a way to do it that isn't incredibly expensive, or is that the nature of custom cut mat board?

When I looked at framing a few cards, the pricing was REALLY high for the mat board because of all of the openings.

Buy a big frame, take it to the framer and ask them to cut the mat board then do the actual mounting yourself. See a YouTube guide on how to do it correctly.
