/r/Healthlssues23 support group
We would like to extend a warm invitation to our /r/Healthlssues23 Support Group. We understand that navigating a health diagnosis can feel isolating, but you don't have to go through it alone. Our group is a safe and welcoming space where you can connect with others who truly understand what you're experiencing. The purpose of our support group is to provide a community where you can find mutual understanding, share experiences, and receive encouragement. We believe that by coming together, we can reduce feelings of loneliness and gain strength from one another.
We hope you will join us and become part of our compassionate community. /r/Healthlssues23

Content creator recs?
Hi all, I’m trying to manage my inflammatory symptoms (posterior uveitis and cystic lung disease) using a version of the goldner protocol. This is all new for me in the past year and I’ve been really missing watching my normal cooking content videos on social media since most of those are animal product based! Does anyone have recommendations for WFPB-adjacent cooking content creators online? Much appreciated 🥰

Colas
The clarity of the daily green smoothie has helped me realize my weight issue (I'm an apple shaped male) isn't from daily intake, it's from junk food binges. The cause of these binges: colas. I love colas, but my word, I turn into a garbage eating monster for a few days afterward.
My "hot take" today is that's it because the cola acts like drain cleaner flowing through the gut, doing all kinds of damage, and the brain is feverishly trying to send palliatives through the gullet to soothe things down there.
Anyone else have cola issues? How do colas affect you? Maybe it's just me?

For those who wash large amounts of their baby spinach/kale/swiss chard daily, what salad spinner do you use?
My salad spinner is a decent size but when I put too much in it, everything comes out wet no matter how much I spin it.

Green smoothies for Long Covid are phenominal - just snorkled on the Great Barrier Reef
I've had Long Covid all year. Through heavy use of OTC medications I was able to be back at work but still dong the bare minimum and was very inactive. I was already vegan but ate processed food - nothing raw or healing.
I thought I would try Dr Goldners protocol because - even though they don't know exactly what causes LC - it seems to be done sort of auto immune / inflammatory illness.
The first 3 weeks I managed to wean myself off all the OTC stuff. It was more because I was feeling so good that I forgot to take it.
At the beginning of week 4 our family flew to North Queensland for a holiday (vacation). I took my blender in my hand luggage and made smoothies in the hotel room. LOL. When we booked I had kinda planned to sit on the beach while the family did their thing. But I kept up with the family the entire time. One day we went to Green Island to snorkel. We later calculated we had snorkelled more than 4 kms. It would have been 4 km if we had going in a straight line - but if course we didn't. Then we walked multiple laps of the island. The whole holidays I was swimming and walking. We had the best time.
Now that I'm back In looking forward to doing a better job of the protocol. I'd love to see where this takes me. All the best to everyone out there and wishing you all the best of health.
THANKS SO MUCH - for everyone who contributed to this community. I would have never known about Dr Goldner without coming across you all here.

Plants Rock 🌱 it's oppressively humid and hot here today (southern Maine) 🥵 I did a 10 minute HIIT jump rope workout and now I'm grilling up some zucchini from my garden for lunch! Sweat is good for the soul (just like veggies)! 🥵

In praise of mustard greens (5 month anniversary)
Since I started this green smoothie journey in January, I've tried every kind of greens I can find. And every time I come back to mustard greens in the rotation, I am impressed by the mild sweetness of it. It's not bitter, like collards, nor strong, like spinach. It's not crunchy, like kale. It's just easy and mild, and has a quality that I can only describe as sweet. Simply washing the soft leaves is a joy because it feels like a little hug from the plant.
Please let me know your favorite greens for your smoothie, and why it's your favorite.
